First and foremost, these tours (both Bridge and Rock tours) are well worth a visit. I have been to Israel many times however this was the first that I purchased tickets to experience the lower section. It was quite a cool experience. I opted for the English tours and my guide Sharon was outstanding. I look forward to returning in the future once additional areas are opened up.

    Suggestions:
    *Wear comfortable shoes
*If you have issues with narrow passageways, this tour may not be for you as it traverses long narrow walkways for a majority of the tour,
*You walk for 70% of the time so be prepared.
*The tours are stacked and in between they flow in bar mitzvah groups which tend to get loud and disruptive to the paid group tours.
*Be sure to check in at least 15-20 minutes before your tour (they suggest 30).
*Each tour lasts 60-70 minutes each.
*Be ready to learn quite a bit about the First and Second Temples which I found to be very informative and interesting for as much as I have learned during my school days.

Walking through history but watch your step. Prepare for the spring water to be cold. Bring a waterproof flashlight. Do not wear flip-flop or shoes that will come off while walking as you are walking through water from ankle to thigh depth. There are potholes where you could twists an ankle, this isn’t for those who have difficulty walking. There are narrows and areas that require sidesteping, bending and stooping. We will do it again.

My family had the privilege of experiencing a cultural and gastronomic journey, hosted by the gracious Manu Cohn family back in April. That evening, we were introduced to a traditional Shabbat dinner, an evening imbued with reverence, history, and the rich tapestry of Jewish customs. Being a first for most of us, each Kosher dish was meticulously prepared and laden with tradition, Emanuel explaining the profound reasons behind each dish and the traditions that enveloped them. But the evening wasn’t just about food; it was an enriching exchange of cultures. Before the dinner, a visit to the local Synagogue for the Shabbat evening prayer allowed my father, son, and myself to witness the spiritual depth of the Jewish faith firsthand. In a time where connections are often fleeting and digital, this genuine, face-to-face connection with the Cohn family was a reminder of the magic that unfolds when we take the time to truly understand and appreciate one another's traditions and beliefs. Our heartfelt thanks to Emanuel and the Cohn family all the way from friendly islands of Fiji. Toda raba.

Firstly, if you are coming by light rail, use the exact address to get to the entrance. If not, you’ll end up at the locked back gate or a very large bus depot!
On arrival, people were helpful and explained what to look at using the very good audio. The museum is cleverly laid out with personal stories and lots of detail - very well presented. Overall, an excellent visit and very well worth the time.

On a stunning, late winter Saturday morning we went to see this little jewelry box of a Russian Orthodox church, which was begun in 1905 by the Czar's sister-in-law, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, but left without a roof by the Communist Revolution and only completed in 2005, after the fall of Communism.

Once called Moskovia by Arab locals, today 5 golden onion domes, one of which is a bell tower, beckon visitors to explore this off-the-beaten- track convent compound.

Closed Sundays and holidays, best to go by car on Saturdays because there is no traffic nor charge for parking in Hadassah Hospital complex, which you have to enter to get to the church.
Taking public transportation would require a very long hike through hospital med school residences just to get to the gate of the convent.

Hours 10;00-13:00 and 15:30-18:00. Leave time to stroll around the quiet grounds as well as go into the church.

Zaks store is one of the best Antiques stores in Jerusalem. Zak who runs the store is supper nice, he is an honest and profesional dealer. In April 2024, when visiting Jerusalem, I have purchased few items at his store from the First and Second Temple periods. All genuine and sertified. Great stuff! The prices were very reasonable.
I am a very happy customer.

The water goes on every hour for 30 minutes and it was a blast for my child, especially on a hot day. Bring a swim suit!

The 360 degree, panoramic views from the tower are amazing and so unique. No other views like it! Great for friends or family. If you go down one flight of stair from the elevator, you can look at the cool bells in the tower!

An extraordinary countryside experience sandwiched between busy main roads. A piece of wild land has been carved out, partly for gazelles and partly for people. Once you are in the valley it is hard to believe that you are surrounded by the city. If you want to see gazelles go early in the morning or in the evening. The gazelle section is separated from the people section. The Visitors Centre is staffed and helpful, with maps in Hebrew English and other languages. One warning: the path marked on the map as a cycle path only exists in part, and even that part is not for the fainthearted, either in terms of the surface or the slope!
I only discovered this park about two months ago, and have been at least six times since: it is only a 10 minute trip along cycle paths from my home in central Jerusalem. Apart from the gazelles there are other forms of wildlife, many different species of birds, plants… And yesterday I nearly cycled over a baby tortoise or possibly a turtle.

    Cool bar.
We found this online and didnt have a reservation. After searching for it on google maps (and asking the coffee shop), we managed to get a table as it was early evening.
The cocktail list itself is great but limited - i asked for a cocktail based on a few ingredients and the waiters were able to make me a lovely cocktail.
Great date night place or with friends. Its small and cosy.
