This was my second visit to Tuol Sleng. My first visit was a few years ago. I now live in Cambodia and after the initial tour of the classrooms that were used for torture, I made it to the second wing where the photographs of the prisoners were taken. I stayed about 5 minutes before getting sad and leaving. The people in the photos were just like the people I live with.

If you're a tourist and interested in the recent history of Cambodia under Pol Pot, by all means visit. If you really know any Cambodian people, it'll make you sad.

Contains a lot of different historical objects from around Cambodia. There are a couple plaques to help contextualize the significance of certain pieces, but for the most part it's a self guided experience without the audio guide.

I wish the attendant had mentioned the availability of a guide beforehand, as I found myself breezing through the museum in a little under an hour without the historical background.

May be a good rainy day activity to burn an hour or two, as there weren't too many standout exhibits in my opinion.

A museum of money and monetary policy usually would not be in the top of my list, but it is actually one of the best history museums I have seen. Whether it is the weakling of the ancient Khmer regime because they didn’t have money, and couldn’t store wealth in no -perishable ways while invaders could, or the effects of the Khmer Rouge ending money based trading. Nice new big art Gallery in old factory run by an English guy who live’s in Phnom Penh. A quiet place in this hectic city were you van also have drink. On the same grounds you can also find a skate park and a huge trampoline hall and other kidstuff to do.

Factory is a factory outlet selling genuine merchandise to locals as well as travelers. It is quite a lot of time frequented by its patrons. Definitely recommended to visit at least once.

The National Museum of Cambodia is located at the heart of Phnom Penh. The place primarily focuses on the Angkor artifacts and history. It is relatively a small museum for the standard of a national museum of a country. Expect to spend around an hour and you will be done with most of the sections. If the history of the region interests you, the place has a lot to offer. It would have been nice if the number of contemporary art was more than this.

    O. Menge Gallery is very nice and the artifacts displayed are really awesome. The gallery is located in the premises of a restaurant so you can also grab a quick bite in case you are hungry.

The museum's collection of diplomatic souvenirs includes gifts presented to the former King Norodom Sihanouk by Kim Il Sung and world leaders such as Indonesian president Sukarno.

It also includes items presented by world leaders from Africa, Japan, Myanmar and Thailand and presents from the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC), chairman of the CPP Chea Sim, and Cambodia's hill tribespeople.

It was originally not meant to be open to the public but you can still go in.
