- Jozef VPrague, Czech Republic7 contributionscentral market is a great place where you can find everything, even what you wouldn't want.😉 we went there because I read great reviews and we were very interested. I went there more because of some souvenirs with wooden cambodia. Great selection and prices are negotiable. Otherwise, I highly recommend it when you visit Phnom Penh.Written November 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Az & Gabbs AttreeYealmpton, UK368 contributionsLovely place for a walk along, we did this during the day and in the evening and the contrast was massive. During the day it’s a nice chilled walk but after 5pm it’s a bustling street full of locals enjoying meals from street vendors and other the pretty lights of the palace and the over the Mekong delta. I’d definitely recommend a walk at both times of day to experience the culture.Written November 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sherpa591575Phnom Penh, Cambodia147 contributionsClose to the Independence Monument, Wat Langka is one of the oldest wats in the city founded around 1440 which derives its name from Sri Langka where Theravada Buddhism originated. Nice wat to visit & if you are nearby for a few days, you may wish to enquire about meditation sessions.
Lovely potted plants adorn the compound where there are many buildings & ornate monuments. I was able to enter some of the buildings, really quiet, beautiful & restful to investigate, an oasis of peace in a very busy city center. I was here during the rainy season which is cooler & softer sunlight for photography. Generally, very clean & pretty but sadly, almost deserted. I think I was the only visitor.Written July 23, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Building inside pretty plain but if it gives you a reason to visit the French area then it’s worth it.Written November 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Az & Gabbs AttreeYealmpton, UK368 contributionsWalk along and see the statue of king father Norodom and fountain of dragons: it’s a nice walk along to see these monuments and learn about Cambodian history.Written November 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mateo Wood4 contributionsBuying tickets for the same day trip is not convenient even though the staff told so on the phone. Better buy it a day or two before the trip.
Nothing really changed after many years. I would say this was not a better trip compared to mine a few years ago. However, now you buy some light meals and drinks on the train. The payments are limited to cash and wing. Please make it easy for customers to pay as well as booking/buying tickets online. e-ticket....ect.Written May 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a great night, similar to cirque de Soleil, not quite as polished and not quite the same level expense on facilities but I laughed and felt the heart in the mouth at some of the stunts
Don't worry about the lack of aircon, there are fans everywhere and it never felt uncomfortably warm.Written November 13, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wandering WonderingsHastings, UK3,240 contributionsEasy enough to find just off the main road. Very serene place to walk around. We wandered in for a stroll as we took in the city. Very pretty.Written October 14, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NatashaNew York32 contributionsMany things were closed during the new year so I wanted to see a site with little time before my flight. This is a beautiful small location and worth the short 15min drive. I recommend going first thing at 8am when it opens as the lighting will be beautiful and only a couple of workers are there. Nextdoor by the water is a lovely cemetery to see as well.Written April 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GuyOMGpokerUnited Kingdom119 contributionsNice artistic space for freelance workers but not a lot going on here for casual tourists. Just a small art gallery, tiny bar and skate park. - ITommEdithvale, Australia89 contributionsThe Temple is on the land between the Tonle Sap River and the Mekong River, over the Tonle Sap River via the Cambodia - China Friendship Bridge. The area on the Mekong River side has a few Temples worth a look. One is the Monkey Temple (there doesn't seem to be a more formal Cambodian name but there must be - it seems to be known just as the Monkey Temple). There isn't much there but if you have't seen many monkeys then this is a chance to do so. Of more interest is the "cemetery" site. But t is like most Buddhist cemeteries so if you've seen one "you've seen them all".Written March 1, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Epic-TravellerRushden, UK4,511 contributionsThe Stupa of Princess Kantha Bopha is located in the grounds of the Royal Palace Complex.
A historical landmark, the large stupa is fenced off from the public but can be viewed by buying a ticket to the Royal Palace.
A large silver stupa with lots of decorative plants and a great addition to the Royal Palace grounds.Written May 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is on the site of a monastery and if you are respectful, the monks do not mind tourists looking around. There are several things to marvel at such as the large bell and the large drum and it is worth a little look around. The monks keep chickens and pets, and it was so cute and funny to see a chicken being called and see it run up and jump into the arms of one of the Cambodian workers.Written January 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
