- ChrisTriciaBisley41 contributionsThe food was well prepared and very tasty. The best food that we had experienced in our 5 day visit to Cambodia. Great service and very relaxing place to eat at lunchtime. Nice cold beers with lovely food. A little paradise in our book.Written 2 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RebeccaAbu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates22 contributionsTRUNKH is one of those shops that you know you've hit the jackpot from the moment you walk in the door. You can see Cambodian antique treasures professionally nestled beside gorgeous hand made (in Cambodia of course) jewellery and then you spy stunning linen and cotton attire that is designed and made onsite and the scent of the handmade candles draws your attention in another direction when you spy the fabulous cards and mugs that depict the charm and happy energy that is 'life in Cambodia'. It's such a bonus that the owners are more like friends in their happy, helpful approach to their customers as TRUNKH is one place you want to spend a lot of time. I love that TRUNKH is a capsule of 'all things cool, quirky and practical' made in Cambodia. I congratulate the TRUNKH team for the support they quietly give to many amongst the Cambodian community. I agree with another review, five stars is not enough!Written 25 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SanTelmoDinerBuenos Aires, Argentina20 contributionsSadly, like LBBass before me, I stopped by this wonderful place today and they are indeed no longer taking orders. The owner said they were shutting down and moving abroad. I asked for recommendations for another tailor in town, but he didn't have any. I'm now looking for an equally talented tailor in town.Written 17 December 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Phil W3 contributionsI first found D. Hindley, while looking for a sapphire engagement ring for my wife, 5 years ago. David's website was one of the only places where I found clear information about Cambodian gemstones and I wasn't getting a good feeling from the local jewellery stores I visited.
As soon as I walked into the D. Hindley shop and spoke to David and his partner Sovann, I felt at ease and knew that I had nothing to worry about. The shop is beautiful and reminds me of a jewellery store you would find in the West.
They have a wide range of jewellery designs and loose stones, specializing in beautiful high quality Cambodian gems like sapphires, rubies, emeralds and other stones such as diamonds, blue and white zircon, aquamarine, topaz and many more.
In the past five years I have bought many rings, earrings, necklaces and other items from them, usually gold and sapphires. Most have been custom made based on designs of my choice. David and Sovann are very accommodating, they can make anything you have in mind and will give you reliable advice and choices to suit your style and budget. They are also great about offering to remake jewellery in case you or your loved one wants something changed or resized.
In a place like Phnom Penh, it is wonderful to know that there is a shop like D. Hindley, that you can trust and rely on, to ensure that you get that special piece that you want for yourself or your loved one.
I cannot recommend D. Hindley, enough, if you are not sure go and take a look yourself, talk to David and Sovann and I assure you, you will feel comfortable and be thrilled with the beautiful work that they do.
Hands down the best jeweller in the country, and to be honest you will have a hard time finding better stones, quality and service than D. Hindley offers, anywhere in the world!Written 19 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. When you can shop for beautiful items AND support a good cause, it is definitely worth the time to visit!Written 24 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Seabass36 contributionsWe passed by this place on Norodom Boulevard by accident, and were triggered by the sign in front of the temple. We were so pleasantly surprised by this shop! There’s a beautiful large collection of textiles and clothing, all hand made by disabled Cambodians, due to disease or landmines. There are up-cycled products such as backpacks and wallets. They also had jewelry made from old bullets and shells. And many more original items that are sustainable and for a good cause. We absolutely loved this store and were happy to spend our money there, especially if you also have seen enough of the markets that sell the same stuff.Written 17 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nsl115Singapore, Singapore1,155 contributionsMy favourite place in Cambodia for off-the-rack fuss-free Cambodian silk items - Dresses, blouses, shirts, skirts, cushion covers, scrunchies and so much more. Really good quality silk that can be hand washed and is relatively hardy. Not cheap but it’s a social enterprise so I willingly part with my money for these excellent buys. Highly recommended!Written 22 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- AuspiciousDragonNew Zealand63 contributionsI visited Tonle on my last visit to PP and was very keen to go back there this time. I love their sustainable, ethically produced goods and their transparency there - it's really nice to read on the tag who made my scarf or cushion cover. Please note that they only seem to have a store at the airport now.Written 3 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark B1 contributionPy Ngav, the Proprietor, is a wonderful designer of fine jewelry. His friendly manner and creativity make for a unique experience to his lovely shop in the heart of downtown Phnom Penh - right next to the National Museum. Py's sister is a gentle and lovely presence in the store too. I found several pieces for various family members in the shop and had one piece custom made. I was very pleased with everything. I highly recommend a trip to Lotus Space. The store is a pleasure to visit and the decor and ambiance well worth the visit too. Unique, custom made jewelry at affordable prices! You can't beat that.Written 1 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
