- CKFCT2,196 contributionsOur tour company arranged for us to rent bikes to ride around the 17 km perimeter of West Lake. It was a fun experience, and there are a few temples and statues to stop and see along the way. Warning: you are on regular traffic rounds with all kinds of vehicles. Because of this, the experience was more dangerous than I expected. - LoBommerThe Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, UK1,492 contributionsWe were disappointed with West Lake and went to the Pagoda and then headed over the road and started off round Truc Bach Lake, lots of restaurants on the side streets but not many overlooking the lake. We found some small tables and chairs in the shade where some locals were sitting, so we joined them and an old lady came and asked us waht we would like to drink, so we ordered some beers. I asked for a Banh mi but she said that she didn't do food but would ask someone else. A waitress turned up, I know not from where and she took my order. Shortly she returned and served us with the best Banh mi that I tasted in Vietnam.

It really was lovely to be somewhere which fell totally local with families enjoying themselves and an impressive number of young and old exercising around the park.
