Made the trip to Hana all the way around the island. My parents are from Maui so always enjoy my visit there.

What a treat watching the staff blow a glass wave and a jellyfish.
My favorite show is Blown Away. Watching the experts blow glass in person was amazing.

This is a VERY high end shopping area, like Rodeo Drive. Escalators, fountains, Tiffany's, etc. But they do offer affordable options like ABC stores and one of a kind businesses that aren't off the map price wise. There is definitely something for everybody. And lots of good food in open air bars and restaurants!
It is a very beautifully designed area with lots of comfortable seating that is intended to promote hanging out. In the center of the mall is a stage and one evening we were passing though, they had some great entertainment with a Hula dancer. Talented musicians. Combined authentic Hawaiian songs with some others that included songs by Tracy Chapman and Norah Jones . People began gathering and it was a very family friendly atmosphere. Little kids were dancing and the whole vibe was great!
The reason I rated it a "4" is that most of the shops are places I could not ever afford to shop. Wailea is one of the most expensive areas on the island. I remember 25 years ago when that shopping center was very primitive and undeveloped and a Hawaiian lady was doing Hula lessons with kids on the shopping center lawn amidst the mud puddles. I only stay in Wailea because I am able to still stay in my ex husband's condo for no cost at this point. But Wailea itself is gorgeous. Highly recommend visiting this shopping center.

We visited this shop a couple of times during our stay on Maui. The selection of art styles was really impressive. We were served by Spencer, a very friendly young lady. She was very helpful and nice to talk to. She arranged for my order to be shipped for me, and recommended a fabulous restaurant for lunch to boot. 5 Stars from us. Great shop, awesome service, fabulous artwork! Put it on your list of places to visit while in Lahaina.

We received a beautiful piece of art from your gallery. My sister is visiting and shipped it to us. We did some research on your gallery and find it splendid! Her daughter works there and has nothing but great things to say about the location and visitors. We live in Portland, OR and will most definitely recommend our traveling friends to visit and enjoy.

For us, this is the "opening act" before we pass through the back door on our way to the Village Gallery. But there is such a great assortment of artistic beauties here and in just about every medium.

Sometimes we buy and sometimes we just admire and pass our way along to the Gallery behind. This time around, we were passers-through.

Vladimir Kush has an artistic concept that I haven't seen before. You really have to study each painting to see all of the hidden touches.

We happened to meet Laura at Pua'a Ka'a State Wayside Park on the road to Hana, she was painting at a picnic table and had some of her art displayed. She was very friendly, and did not pressure us into buying anything, but her art was so beautiful and affordable , we bought two prints. It was one of the highlights of our trip to chat with her about the cats that live at the park, she even pointed out the best place for a picture in front of the falls a and took a family picture for us!

The absolute BEST mangoes, outstanding papayas, great pineapples and fine apple bananas. The Golden Glow mangoes are our favorites but they usually have several varieties. We have learned to buy about 7 at a time and put them in the fridge…they ripen beautifully and we can enjoy one a day as we visit Upcountry or Hana, and aren’t near Kihei. This doesn’t work with papayas! Friendly, helpful, kind and fair prices. We look forward to this little stand with great fruit and lovely owners each time we visit.

We stopped in Maui on Metal on our recent trip to Maui. They have beautiful photos, of all sizes, printed onto metal sheets. The effect of the lights on the metal prints is amazing. They seemed so real - like you could almost feel the breeze from the ocean! Kayanna was very helpful and assisted us in selecting a lovely Maui keepsake, called Summer Dreams. Mahalo Kayanna!

Lots of shops to browse. Parking validated with a purchase - Ono gelator requires a $15 minimum purchase to validate - pretty steep for 2 small cones. Did not get the gelato. Bought a much less expensive purchase at Hilo Hatties for the validation. It was Thanksgiving so a few of the shops were closed but it looks like there are few if any empty stores there.

Although many stores are the same as you find on the Mainland, the selection (in the past, at least) was much better. Our favorites (Lucky Brands, Banana Republic) used to have such fantastic mark-downs for season-end (December) that we felt like this was as close to "free" as we were going to get.

Not so this time around. Big disappointment. Selection and prices were very poor. Maybe we just all need to wait a bit for things to recover a little bit more.
