Exploring the cave was one of the most challenging and exciting tours I have ever taken. The guides are excellent, always looking out for our safety and ensuring we enjoy our experience. Highly recommend this tour for those wanting to understand more about Maya culture. It is both a physically and mentally challenging tour testing your agility and balance. I really like that a guide had no more than 8 persons.

The cave tubing was one of the most fun experiences I have ever had. Our guide Demas was exceptional and made sure we were safe and had as much fun as possible. The pictures do not do the cave justice and would recommend this experience to anyone interested in seeing the caves.

This was one of the highlights of our trip! The Jungle Pontoon Waterfall Adventure tour is definitely a must do. You visit several impressive waterfalls, have multiple opportunities to swim, and eat a delicious lunch. If we were to return to the San Ignacio area, we would do this trip again. Our tour guide stopped at a super mart before the trip and we were able to purchase some beers for the trip which they kindly kept in the cooler. Whether you want to relax all day on the pontoon or have an adventurous day swimming and exploring waterfalls, the tour works for everyone!

We booked this tour based on other reviews posted on Trip Advisor and we were thrilled! Michael, our Maya Walk driver picked us up at our hotel. We met Abi, our tour guide, a few minutes later at the Maya Walk offices. Michael was a skilled driver who safely navigated difficult terrain to get us safely to Rio Frio Cave, Caracol and The Rio Frio Pools. Abi was very passionate about Belizian Mayan history, the history of the site, and the nature reserve surrounding the site . He also had a passion for native birds. Abi planned the Caracol site visit perfectly so that we had the ruins primarily to our group of six. We enjoyed a delicious local made Mayan chicken lunch after touring Caracol. Micheal and Abi setup the warm lunch at the conclusion of our site tour and even had a formal table cloth. We highly recommend this tour! Michael and Abi were a great team and made the trip even more special!

Wonderful experience with MayaWalk Tours! Our guide Reggie was super helpful. He lead us all over the ruins and gave us time to explore a bit on our own. As of my experience in January 2023, you are welcome to climb (or not climb) the ruins, except Temple 1. We saw a lot of wildlife as well! Lunch was great at a nearby restaurant, with vegetarian option available. I would definitely book with MayaWalk Tours again.

Our trip to Tikal was booked based on other trip reviews posted on Trip Advisor and we were very happy with the tour. We booked a private tour for our group of four from San Ignacio to Tikal in Guatemala. We were picked up by a driver at our hotel in San Ignacio. He took us to the border and explained the exit and entry process. He told us that Marco would greet us when we entered Guatemala. The border crossing process was fast and easy.

Our guide Marco met us as we walked through the border. Marco and driver Miguel Angelo were friendly and welcoming. The ride to Tikal took about 1 hour and 45 minutes on well paved roads. We made a brief stop on the way to the park at a Mayan artisanal center where we enjoyed a hot cup of Guatemalan coffee and got to see a Tikal site model.

Marco gave us a very detailed tour at Tikal. He was passionate about Mayan culture and history. He knew a lot about the nature reserve, the animals that reside there as well as flora and fauna.

After our tour we enjoyed a delicious local fajita lunch at a small restaurant just outside the park.

Our return trip to the border was easy and so was the crossing. We were greeted again by a Belizian driver who brought us back to our hotel.

Tikal is a must see and Marco was a great guide.

We arranged Tikal and ATM tours with BCE plus transport to and from Belize City to San Ignacio. The whole team is awesome and a special shout out to Marconi (aka Baloo!) for a great experience. the guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Some of my family members are not great swimmers, but they were very patient and helpful when navigating the ATM cave. They even fit in a trip to the zoo on the way back from San Ignacio to Belize City.

This was a great tour with our amazing guide Miguel. He really knew the caves and every loose rock of it as well as the Mayan culture. Lunch was also very nice and of course the rum punch at the end.
Consider if you want to do it that it is a great experience but also quite challenging physically and a bit mentally as well (especially if a little claustrophobic).

I have traveled extensively and taken tours around the world (including 6 other Mayan sites) and this was one of the best tours and companies I have used! Caracol is a little out of the way for most tourist but as the largest Mayan site in Belize, it’s a must see. It's a 2 and half hour drive from San Ignacio down mostly ruff dirt/muddy roads. You technically can drive it yourself if you have a 4-wheel drive but don't unless you are used to driving in adverse conditions. While there are few turn offs, there are even fewer directional signs. For this reason, we booked this tour. We decided to leave the driving to an expert. Don't let the road scare you away from this once in a lifetime trip, it's worth every moment.

Before the trip, I did my research and read the reviews. St Leonard's had the best review I could find. I emailed and Carla quickly responded, answering all my questions. As the trip got closer, I emailed with other travel/Covid concerns and Carla again eased my mind and was very helpful.

Once in country, I called Carla and hammered out the details. Early the next morning, Elio picked us up at the hotel and off we went into the jungle. He was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. He not only knew his Mayan history but also knew the flora and fauna. He truly made our day exciting and educational. We made many wonderful memories that day that will last a lifetime.

After a wonderful homemade picnic lunch, we started the long trek back. Along the way we stopped at Rio Frio Cave and Rio On Pools. Both spots were impossibly gorgeous and a great side trip. Just FYI, there are changing facilities at the Rio On Pools so you don't have to ride back in your wet bathing suit.

You spend a lot of money getting the San Ignacio and have traveled many miles, so don't miss out on this amazing world wonder. Book a guide to make the most out of your travels. I can honestly say that St Leonard's Tours has been one of my best travel experiences. I WILL l travel with them again. At this point, I would take any trip they offered. They treated us friends and not another tourist.

We took 2 tours with St Leonard’s - Caracol and the combined tour of Xunantunich & Cahal Pech (see separate review). I highly recommend both.

Our tour guy Elio was excellent. He picked us up at the hotel in San Ignacio and before we knew it we were crossing the hand ferry at Xunantunich Mayan ruins. We got there well before crowds and had an informative tour of this impressive location. It is one of the better ruins in Belize being accessible, well managed and extremely interesting. The tour than lead us to cave tubing, an excellent idea for a hot afternoon after walking through an historical site. In fact the tubing was probably the most fun afternoon event I had during an eight day visit.

Just us and one other guest. Our guide was super knowledgeable and is on the board of tourism for San Ignacio which gave us a lot of great info. Very close to town so easy to add into your day. Highly recommend going with a guide, but not required. We were able to climb some of the ruins which gave an incredible view of the valley. It is HOT under the sun so make sure to wear sunscreen. Moderate climb up the ruin so wear comfortable walking shoes and be aware when climbing.

We came during the off season (July) so it was just the two of us on the tour. We were picked up from our hotel in San Ignacio and driven to the ruins. Our Guide. Bemas (not sure on spelling) was awesome! This was our favorite tour of the trip purely because Bemas was so great. He was kind and welcoming. He also had extensive knowledge about the Mayans and the site. After the Mayan site we stopped at a local restaurant where we picked our lunch. I had the black soup which tasted exactly like chicken noodle soup. My boyfriend had a pork dish and said it was delicious. We then drove to the falls. It required bit of a hike down, there were some stairs, not too long of a walk but it was a bit of an exercise. Once there, Bemas gave us tips on how to swim closer to the waterfall. You are swimming against the current so be prepared. We had fun jumping off rocks and into the refreshing water. We were told we could stay as long as we wanted (probably since it was just the two of us) but once a large youth group showed up we decided it was time to leave. We still had a fun time swimming. Then we changed into dry clothes and were dropped off back at our hotel. It felt like a chill version of what we had already done, it's good for when you want something but not too much.

Cave tubing was off the charts cool - a must do in the Belize jungle. Mayawalk was excellent - organized, attentive, knowledgeable, super easy to find. Jason was our guide - really nice guy, very personable. Mayawalks add a hike and swim in the cave system that many tours bypass. That part of the tour was a big highlight.

Caracol Maya Temple was very impressive. Worth the bumpy drive for sure. Perhaps not many tourists go there because of a longer drive. We felt we had the entire area for ourselves (along with the howler monkeys).
Our guide, Dimas, is an exceptional guide with a wealth of knowledge of the archeology and history of the site. He's also a keen bird watcher and well versed in animal and plant life. It was a holiday and all the locals seemed to have taken the day to hang out at the river, so we opted out of the Big Rock Waterfalls. Not a big deal for us as we were pretty tired after all our climbing.
Dimas was on time at pick-up and a very safe driver.
