Our group of 12 just returned from Ambergris Caye on Sunday. We booked a private all day charter through Catamaran Belize for our 1st full day on the island. We had 3 snorkel stops and stopped at a sandbar to eat/drink/hang out on Cas Cat (name of the boat). We selected the Belizean buffet to be included. This was by far the best price for a private tour.
They picked us up at the Palapa Bar dock. The captain and 2 crew were extremely nice and funny (we laughed a lot during the day). They catered the tour to what we wanted, which was to snorkel as much as possible. We chose a southern route and stopped at Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley, and Coral Gardens. There were a few people in our group that had never snorkeled. Raul and Ana (crew) were very attentive while we were snorkeling and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. On board, they made sure our cups were never empty. The boat has bluetooth, so we were able to play our own music from my cell phone.
After 2 snorkel stops, we stopped at a sand bar. While the crew got lunch ready we were in waste deep crystal clear water laughing and enjoying ourselves. The food was delicious....stewed chicken, fish, slaw, fried plantains, rice and beans. There was plenty of food, water, and rum punch for all. Some of us never got out of the water to eat, they made a plate for us and brought it to us in the water. The captain gave us the option to stay at the sand bar longer or go to another snorkel stop, we chose to snorkel.
There was a late afternoon storm that came up so we missed seeing the sunset. Even though it rained, we still had a great time on the boat heading back to Palapa Bar to be dropped off.
Our group had a great time on Catamaran Belize. It was a perfect day, even with the rain. The captain and crew were fantastic, they took care of everything. The price was phenomenal....you choose the # of hours, where you want to go, and what is included.
