This hotel was fantastic in every way! The location is perfect for access to the museums on the National Mall and the wharf - very easy walks and very accessible. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the rooms are large, comfortable, beautifully appointed and quiet. The only slight negative was the shower - the pressure wasn't as strong as I prefer but it was a minor issue. I can't wait to stay there again!

DC is filled to the brim with incredible live theatre. I keep finding myself back at Arena Stage for their professional quality productions, intimate houses, thorough dramaturgy, and friendly staff. Their in-the-round Fichandler stage remains a rare gem while the Kreeger theatre gives audiences an idea of what to expect when a show transfers to Broadway a la Dear Evan Hansen - the reason for one of Arena's TWO Tony Awards. The Kogood Cradle also hosts smaller productions.

We located the area after driving around for a while, the street had been closed off. The Building looks old from the roof, but the color wet amazing. I was able to walk and take pictures no one on site. I think offer classes on various days.

Now called The Culture House, this repurposed vintage Baptist Church presently is an arts and performance center. Check out online the gallery and upcoming exhibits.

We went to see the Washington Kastles play at American University. It was a really fun night. It was really great for the kids in the crowd. If you have a child or are a big tennis fan this is a good night.

The band performs on an elevated stage within the church sanctuary. There's an open space in the back for dancing. $5 to see excellent musicians. We've been coming for over 10 years. The audience is every age and the best diversity of any venue I've seen. Generally three sets.

Sweet 45 minute ride from the Wharf to Georgetown. At $24 I consider it pricey but I had a good time. Saw a lot of monuments.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Carolyn is so knowledgeable and friendly. We’ve done a few other walks and have always been pleased. We will definitely do more walks with them and have recommended Washington Walks to our friends.

My family of 4 (2 kids ages 13 & 9) decided to book the Spirit to visit of Mount Vernon Cruise the day before to give our legs a break from all the walking in DC. The cruise is about 1.5 hours long each way with about a three hour visit to Mount Vernon. This trip quickly became our favorite thing we did on our week-long trip. The cruise was nice with information about passing landmarks. You can purchase snacks and drinks if you want and the boat has entertainment for the kids such as a foosball table on the open upper deck. The middle deck was nice to visit since it was air conditioned. Mount Vernon was fabulous and a must see! Definitely add this to your list of ‘must-dos’ during your DC trip!

I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel for almost a week! The hotel, itself, was Amazing! It was a combined business/personal visit. I was dying to get my nails done. I had pre-booked an appointment on the website for a "mani-pedi" & had made a payment. I tried going to the spa several times early PM. I had not received a follow-up for the spa visit or spa reminder & was concerned! There was no one there! On one occasion, the spa doors, on the third floor were wide open. No one was present!
It was explained to me, by some, other, hotel staff members that the spa exists in the hotel, yet is not part of the hotel! It is a stand-alone-business!
Early in the week I went to the spa & the receptionist Naiyah was there. (I seen other positive reviews, about her.) In my case: She was nasty, rude, & very disrespectful. I did book an appointment, in the spa, at that time. Naiyah explained there were problems with the website & some previously made appointments, like mine were "spit out or cancelled!" In addition, the previous website payment which was pending, fell away. I was not charged!! I stayed calm because I wanted my mani-pedi. My Manicurist was EXCELLENT. The low score was due to Naiyah's behavior!
While I was getting my mani-pedi, Naiyah kept staring me down. I avoided her gaze. She then offered me water. I replied "Yes, I would like a bottle of water." She replied with sarcasm "I can, only, get you A cup of water. I declined the offer, scared of what she might do to my cup of water. She was running in & out of the spa, then left early! The manicurist, the myself & the male masseuse were the only ones in the spa until another guest came in to book an appointment, that early evening.

I gave respect & I anticipated getting respect back! Please Respect women who give respect; irregardless of their age, race or how they look. When we come to the spa we usually need a little TLC!

Lane was an amazing tour guide. He knew so many historical facts. He was a very fun and knowledgeable guide for my DC tour. It was sad that he only had a pink hat for me to know where he was. I believe a raise would be beneficial for him to get some better equipment.
