We had a very pleasant walk four miles upstream from our hotel to another destination. We had been there a year before, but this was a more ambitious walk.

The path is well maintained and attractive. It is a great place to spend some time, whether you are using it to go somewhere or just to unwind.

The National Museum of the United States Navy is located in the former breech mechanism shop of the old Naval Gun Factory on the grounds of the Washington Navy Yard in Washington DC. They will be moving the museum to a new modern facility within the next five years and will be located outside the Washington Navy Yard. When you first enter the museum you look straight ahead at the fighting top of the USS Constitution. The admission is free with limited hours and the personnel working there will cordially greet you. We have now been to all of the services National Museums including the Army, Air Force, and Marines.

Spent a couple of hours at this quiet museum devoted to the National Guard. I didn't know to much about their history or role and this museum, with well thought out displays and pictorial history, was able to give me a much better insight.
I was given a warm welcome and an explanation as to what could be seen over the two floors
Less than 5 minutes walk from Union Station this small museum should be a must for those interested in US history or if you have a military connection or legacy.

This is a nice small museum commemorating the contributions of Jews in American wars. It took us 2 hours because we read a lot of the documents.

This is not a very large space, but it's special, and has been lovingly and well-restored with interesting displays that are a good mix of interpretive and relic-based. Fun little gift shop with some excellent reading material. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. If you're in the area, this is a quick and excellent museum. Depending on your status, admission is at or around $10.
