    Nice and Smooth
    Despite some of the negative reviews this was really good. I caught four fish and my mother caught 2. The crew were nice and made sure it went smoothly. About everyone caught something.

    Best part of my trip!!
    Absolutely incredible! Both captains were extremely kind and helpful, and showed us a beautiful sunrise over the city. They offer assistance to those who get sea sick, and will ensure you're okay to keep fishing. The captain knows the good spots! I caught 15 fish on my trip, and had the option to keep or release. I absolutely had a blast, and can honestly say it has been my favorite activity during my stay in Honolulu. Definitely worth it!!!

    So so
    I feel like this is a little over played. I caught 3 aquarium fish. I’d be a little embarrassed if I took a photo of them. The sophisticated fishing technique consists of throwing a bobber with a piece of frozen shrimp. Gear consists of the cheapest longs drugs/KTA tackle section variety (one rod still had the zip tie on thr handle. The secret spot is the boat launch- since everywhere was blown out with wind. The first hour was just casting once, snagging, then re-tying everything since I’d fling a cast and the knots would come undone and lose the rig, or snag and break. It wasn’t my casting as the breaking spot was a pig tail where the connection was on the braided line (and I wasn’t tying the knots) they didn’t have backup bobbers since losing one has never happened before?). The backup reel was badly backlashed (not my doing) . I was advised if i really want good shore fishing I’d need a 4wd as the best spots were elsewhere. If you’ve never fished before & not experienced it might be ok for you.

    Ikena and Dylan were excellent fishing guides. The boat was in immaculate condition. My girls and I felt right at home!
    Though the fishing was slow we still caught 7 total fish. We continued to hunt for opportunities until the very last minute. Ikena and Dylan definitely want to catch fish.

    Very Unique and Fun Experience
    Very unique and fun experience fishing the ocean in kayaks. Our guide La was really knowledgeable and made it fun. My son caught an octopus which was the highlight.

    If it’s your cup of tea
    We departed 40 minutes after schedule. Good thing we didn’t have any dinner reservations or adventures after scheduled. One of the crew men smoked cigarettes while aboard. Thought both were inconsiderate. They were polite crew and really tried catching any fish.

    Cancelled
    I was so excited for this activity, but the morning of as we were getting ready I got an email that it was cancelled. No reason as to why it was cancelled. They did not even ask if we would like to reschedule it. They did give us a refund, but I was not happy that we didn’t get to go. We couldn’t even book any other activity for the day.

    The Captain Gaige and Crew Beau were exceptional hosts - although we did not catch any fish - the boat ride was fantastic - boat was in super shape - very clean - would definitely do it again in the future

    Fabulous Fishing for All
    2 days with Captain and Crew led to 20 different kinds of fish caught including a Blue Marlin, Yellow Tail, Tuna And Mahi Mahi. Captain and Crew were helpful, funny, and fish pouncers. For a novice and the more advanced, this is a delightful time spent with a team that loves fishing.

    Great family fishing trip!
    We booked a 3/4 day with Kona cowboy for my family of 4. Ryan and Gaige were great to deal with right from the start. Professional and hard working clearly working to give us the best experience possible. They got us on some Ono right out of the harbour. We each got a chance to reel one in then we headed out for marlin. They were great with the kids kept them engaged and both Ryan and Gaige were friendly and easy to hold a conversation with. The kids loved the tuna tower and asking all sorts of questions to the guys. Unfortunately the marlin bite was slow but I’m positive they gave us the best opportunity possible to get hooked up. They even extended our trip without question in hopes to give us a chance at a big marlin! Professional guys that clearly know what they are doing! If your looking for a great charter that is there for you and the experience these are the guys! Thanks again and we hope to be back soon!!

    Great experience aboard the Ku’ Ula Kai!!
    I took a six hour trip with Apex Charters and had the intension of hooking up with a blue marlin. Captain Rane and mate Kyle worked hard to get me a fish of a lifetime on the end of my line. We did not find a marlin but I was able to get three nice skip jacks in the boat.
    Mate Kyle was very good at showing me what he was doing while setting our gear for the day. If you love to fish, I would definitely recommend taking the six hour trip aboard the Apex Chaters Ku’ ula kai!

    Best fishing/cruising experience!
    Iwa Kai is a beautiful, well maintained boat! The crew were lovely and very attentive and the captain was super knowledgeable. Only charter fishing boat on island that allows 12 people so my whole friend group and I got to go out. lSo fun to have caught two mahi mahi! Will definitely be out with them again.

    Family day on the water.
    Fantastic day out on the water. I would highly recommend these guys. Great hospitality! From booking and coming along side it was excellent.

    Great day on the water with Justin. We had 5 people, fishing and snorkeling. Justin was knowledgeable and accommodating. We caught fish and the snorkeling was amazing!
