- Ofamily2014Chicago, IL126 contributionsWonderful beach with food options nearby. There is a bathroom also. Parking is challenging so go early. This beach is very built up compared to when I first started coming here in the 90s so be prepared to be surrounded by people. The beach is still clear, except after storms where sediment then moves around until it settles again. They do their best to keep up with erosion. However, one of my friends who lives here says that after Hurricane Milton did a lot of damage. My advice would be to check google maps and also ask people who live there before you go whether the area of your choice has been rebuilt yet. Some areas take longer than others. Just keep this in mind. The sand is pleasant to step on. You can see wildlife, sometimes dolphins and beautiful are the sunsets.Written January 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tanya T.Illinois1,720 contributionsThere are mainly two things to see -- the beach an the historic fort. There are also some walking trails, so make sure you have the right type of shoes - I would not recommend sandals. I suggest water shoes if you plan to enter from the shore because it is incredibly rocky. We had a wonderful stroll through the park and to the fort. Entrance to the park is $2.50 per person if you are on foot.Written January 3, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA18,889 contributionsIt's a truly beautiful beach, and we were here on a sunny, balmy day, so we were lucky. But we did not have a lot of time to enjoy it so maybe next time. Lots of people on the beach and in the water.Written December 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jerri LJohnston, IA4,777 contributionsThis area of the Gulf Coast stretches for miles with white sand beaches, and rolling surf. We walked miles in each direction around the pier, enjoyed the peacefulness of the beach on a cooler day in the off season.. we had the beach mostly to ourselves, and we caught a beautiful sunset. There are restroom facilities available and the longest fishing pier in Florida and in the Gulf Coast is right there (for a small fee) to walk and enjoy the views.Written January 14, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PAboyinFLOcala, FL1,747 contributionsRented a condo on the beach from Christmas Day until the day before New Year’s. The beach was quiet, but the emerald water and white sand is always beautiful. At least at this time of year the beach is very clean and mostly unpopulated.Written December 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David N141 contributionsVery clean and managed "clothing optional" beach. All ages welcomed to enjoy the beach and sand in the buff. Absolutely no issues considering it's clothing optional. - Jonathan C.La Jolla, California, USA526 contributionsAbsolutely gorgeous beach - go up a little north and you can avoid the crowds. Soft, fine sand that's very easy to walk around. There were blocked off areas for nesting turtles this month.Written September 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 2TravelersMnStillwater, MN578 contributionsHenderson Bech Stat Park provides a majestic shoreline that is anchored by 30-foot snow-white sand dunes. - Sherie NMichigan City, IN1,307 contributionsThis isn’t your usual State Park, it’s better. This park is in the beautiful Florida Keys and has beautiful turquoise and blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean! You can see the best of both worlds, with a paved parking lot and public restrooms. There is a small concession stand in the gift shop to curb your appetite. There is a fee to enter the park, I think it was $2.00 per person. You will also get to see the Flagler railroad that was damaged in a hurricane in the 1920’s. It is truly a beautiful place. I highly recommend visiting.Written January 13, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WhereIsJennAt87 contributionsGreat, calm, and relaxing beach. Didn’t feel guilty when my nieces were running around, talking loudly and having a great time. Wear shoes all the time as there are rocks, stones and sticks on the beach. There is a big lip drop off right off the beach as you’re in the water. We love to walk over and play on the beach but also playground as well. Downside, you have to pay for parking per hour.Written December 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Al MakynenDuluth, MN366 contributionsWe stayed on the beach at a bed and breakfast. A very short walk over the dunes (which are growing in width and height due to conservation efforts). There is a driving lane for vehicles (you need four-wheel drive), which for us is a huge distraction from the natural beauty. The ruts are unsightly - not to mention parked vehicles. However, this does give greater access for more people to enjoy the beach. So if you want to drive out onto the beach - this area is for you. Do check the tides. High tide (near the time of a full moon) puts most of the beach - right up to the driving lane under water.Written November 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Olivia Hamilton-ThomasLondon, UK218 contributionsHave been coming to this beach for years, much quieter than other beaches on the coast as it’s a slightly longer walk to get to the shore, means there are less family’s and large groups. Lovely breeze with great view of the sunshine skyway. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare as there isn’t anyway designatedWritten September 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
