Rottnest Island is beautiful, calm and photogenic. Every one arrives to this island happy, joyful, relaxing and fun. Little did we know the island's dark history and sad stories. The lady in the museum told us the things happened in the past and the knowledge makes the island more meaningful to visit. November is the month for the breeding of bush flies. They just surround us and poke into our eyes, nostril and mouth for moisture. The quokkas are friendly and cute.

Breathtaking views, chilled out vibe and generally a great place to stop and picnic while you’re cycling around Rottness

Spent many days on this beach during my stay. Always plenty of space even on busy days. Very clean and great for walking along waters edge from end to end. Plenty of parking and a great cafe where you can get ices, coffees and breakfast.
Backed by sand dunes and green space, there’s plenty of room to have your picnic, play games or chill and watch the sunset.
Located next to dog beaches too.

This island is really cool to visit if you are anywhere near it during your travels! We rented bikes and ride around the island, stopping at all the beautiful beach spots. We also went skydiving while there. The quokkas are adorable and this is the only place in the world that you can see them.

Miles of white sand, never crowded. Usually easy to find a carpark apart from high peak times. It's by far the best to go in the early morning as the Fremantle Doctor blows up in the afternoons and you can get sand blasted.

Port Beach is the port city's favourite beach. It's in North Fremantle; it has a slight industrial feel, but the sand is nice. It's only 5 minutes from the centre of Fremantle, with bars, restaurants and other useful venues. It's famous on Australia's West Coast as a place to watch the blazing sun sink into the Indian Ocean. By the way, Port Beach is well-known for hosting weddings and other functions,

This was definitely the scenic high point of our tour of Rottnest Island. The rugged limestone cliffs, sapphire blue bay, and eroded arch are very photogenic. A great spot to spend an hour or more.

This is lovely little beach. There is lots of restaurants and bars very close by. I had my evening meal in Ostro Italian. There is public places to shower and change etc. All seems very chilled area. I had a lovely few hours on the beach and swimming in the sea.

I've fallen in love with the beaches on Rottnest and so it's hard to know which one to pick out for the most praise - but Little Salmon is the best for snorkelling. White sands. Pristine water. What more can one ask for?

Ricey Beach is another very pretty beach on Rottnest located between Stark Bay and Catherine Bay on the northern side of the island. The bus on Bovell Way runs quite close to the beach and worth a stop.

This beach wouldn't be out of place on any Maldive island, the water is simply stunning and somewhere you really need to take the time to visit.

Nice open bay on the southern side of Rotto. Good spot for surfing and nice open ocean views. If you're cycling around the island you get good views the whole way along the coastline too.

One of the best beaches on the island, a really nice hidden cove. Worth the cycle to get there without doubt

The view from above is absolutely amazing and even if the water in not crystal clear it is worth a swim! It is not usually very crowded, so if you want a quit place where to rest just head down to the beach!
