Wonderful experience today at the WA Maritime Museum. Was so good to see Australian History. And to get up close and personal with Australia II. A personal favourite was the sandman.
Big thanks to Paul for rescuing my hat!

We never planned to visit this museum but were so glad we did. Entrance is free although they do promote the option for you to donate which we did on the way out.
The place is full of artefacts and relics that have been retrieved from shipwrecks in the region which are all beautifully displayed.
We spent a good while talking to one of the staff who was so enthusiastic about making sure we gained the most from our visit.
    I would say it's a must-see place in Freo.

They were particularly in awe of the antique artefacts, weird looking beds, that there's a very deep well in the house itself ... shocked that there is no microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher or television ... lost for words at how clothes are 'stabbed' and 'stirred' for washing and then put through a mangle to squeeze water out of them ... puzzled that the very first car looked more like a tram. Our tour guide Joy was awesome and provided so much info. They had a fun day learning about the Samson family and their way of living.

Greg does outstanding work and it is a real pleasure to wander around his studio and view his amazing works. We were lucky enough to have a chat with him from the stairs as he worked in his workshop. If you like art, you will like this place.
