My wife and I did the Behind Bars Tour and it was well worth the money! Debbie, our guide, was informative and entertaining and gave us a very good insight to what the prisoners went through. We got to see the cells and exercise yards and it was a real eye-opener.

We chanced upon the Round House during a morning walk. Had a chat with Allan, one of the volunteers, and decided to go in. Our visit coincided with a bunch of school kids who obviously enjoyed their school excursion. Other volunteers would sidle up and explain a feature if we showed an interest. I took a photo of my wife with a "I'm guilty" and her prison number, later she was-placed in the stocks. I am surprised how long the site maintained our interest. The excellent volunteers with their historical knowledge bring the place to life - well done them.

Nice statue I'd ACDC frobtmsn Bon Scott. Pretty diminutive but still a good photo stop, especially if you like their music. Close to the seafront and ferris wheel, we really enjoyed a quick visit.

What a fitting tribute to the soldiers, sailors and airmen who have given so much to us.

Beautiful location with a fitting outlook.

Well preserved. Definitely worth a somber visit.

This is a landmark art installation and friendly welcome to Fremantle, situated just off Canning Highway and overlooking Fremantle Port. It is the work of Perth based artist Marcus Canning and was installed in 2016. You'll see Rainbow Sea Container when driving into Fremantle. Or stop for a few minutes for a picture or two if interested.

What you find are 9 recycled sea containers painted in the colours of a rainbow and attached to form a 9 metre tall arch, stretching 19 metres in length. You can park your vehicle in the lot down by the East St. Jetty and make the short 2-3 minute walk up to the grassy stretch alongside the road where you can see and take picture of the Rainbow Sea Container installation.

A fun family outing. However short lived and for the price it should be another couple of rotations long (only 4) especially on quiet days when there is no one lining up

Fremantle is a seaport with a long history as the entry point for new immigrants to Western Australia. St Patrick's dates back to the 1860s. It has since been designated as a Basilica. The current handsome building, constructed of hard-wearing local limestone, dates from 1900. St Patrick's is named after the patron saint of Ireland. The church has offered solace to many lonely newcomers to this port city.

This has been a longtime fishing venue. Over the years I have fished both the North and South Moles and have have strong recollections of gazing upon the hypnotic North Mole light being emitted from this iconic landmark during a quiet night fishing expedition. Nowadays I'm unaware if the lighthouse even works but it does provide an ever present reminder of years gone by.

I visited recently and the whole area has been transformed but the lighthouse still remains to bring back fond memories.

This is great for a drive to just watch anglers all try for a small catch of fish to take home. Pleasant area to watch people enjoy themselves or just watch boats cruise by.

The original Methodist church was built on this site in 1841 and the foundation stone for the current church was laid in 1888. This is an attractive old stone church that has been well maintained and worthy of a look. One of a number of historical and old buildings in Fremantle.

This was an interesting walk from the city side of the tunnel out on to the beach. The story boards in the wall niches paint a good picture of what it was like for deckhands in early days unloading their ships and getting cargo ashore. Well worth taking the time to stroll through here.

It is built of limestone and red brick and is quite attractive. The church dates back to 1890 and was the first Presbyterian Church in Fremantle and one that declined amalgamation with the Uniting Church. One of many interesting old buildings in the town.

This mural has been a landmark in Fremantle for over 80 years, so much so that it was overpainted during WWII lest it provide a landmark for enemy agents. It is painted on the side of a building owned by Great Southern Rolled Flour Mills Limited, the mill being commonly called "Dingo Flour Mill'. It is a stylised silhouetted dingo of imposing dimensions, painted by artist Les Nash in 1940. The site was heritage listed in 2008, and the red dingo is now reputedly repainted every month.

Kitson Point is just past Salmon Bay and Green Island and is one of the pretty places you will find on the trip around Rottnest Island. Cannot be beaten on a hot sunny day.

On August 6, 1984, a Japanese boat ran aground on Rottnest Island.

They donated their anchor and it is still here with a plaque of how this had happened.

We had a great view on the ocean and the sun was shining.

    Worthwhile to see!
