We recently visited the Fremantle Market which is held from 9am to 6pm (Fri, Sat & Sun). This was an enjoyable way to spend a couple hours if visiting during market days. The market is made up of The Hall (shops) and The Yard (eateries) and is located within the historic building (1897) with interesting Federation Romanesque architecture.

Within you'll find around 150 booths setup selling all manner of gifts, clothing, accessories, skin care, boutique and handcraft items along with a fair number of simple eateries, veggie and food retailers. All was laid back, interesting and good bit of fun browsing, shopping and finding a bite to try while in Fremantle.

Just in its second month, this market promises to be one of the most exciting in Perth. Whilst only small now, the organisers (Lions Club) have big plans for it. The venue is fantastic - rights on the foreshore and there are plenty of trees for shade. The stalls are pretty diverse in type. Last month there were artists, wood carvings, woven fabrics, jewellery and many more. Food is limited at present but is available at a reasonable price. The site is suitable for disabled people. Parking is a bit limited but it is also possible to park on the verge over the road. There are toilets available. It is a great couple of hours on a sunny day to pick up some souvenirs.
