Venue was well fitted out with Bar to one side. Not too crowded and service started out well but the young lady could not keep up with our consumption so we were forced to go to the bar where service was average and slow. Whilst I did have to double check how to get there (ie. go up in the lift of the Navy Club) I have to say the venue and performing space were spot on for a proper jazz experience - this struck me from the moment I got there.
Based on the venue and music I heard, if I lived in Perth this would be a jazz venue I would want to frequently visit - a good size stage for the band and decent size room for the audience, a decent sound system, well presented in the decor, audience layout and the club owner’s introductions for the band. The bar had plenty of choice too and I think food was available too. The band I heard were superb and likewise I was impressed by the current programme I saw. This is a jazz venue that deserves way more reviews to commend the great musicians, jazz club setup and cultural contribution they bring to Perth.
