We enjoyed our night tour of the Fremantle Prison. Wish we had time to do the full tour and hopefully come back some day to do the tunnel tour.

Easy to access and a very pretty location. Toilets available on the foreshore, with food trucks and grassy area.

Travelled with someone with a Companion Card and that was accepted with concession price. Ticket staff were friendly and helpful and the ride was smooth and quite quick.

Very nice people working here, don't be afraid to ask them anything, they are very knowledgeable and helpful with a obvious passion for the island.

A visit to Fremantle isn't complete without strolling through the Free Markets. I was actually looking for something specific for a girlfriend overseas and when it comes to gifts for overseas friends this is one of the best places to look.

Did the HMAS OVENS tour, what a great tour which was taken by an ex navy gentleman that served on this Sub. He was full of knowledge and great story's. I have up most respect for sub Mariners who serve on these vessels in these living conditions. Would recommend this tour to everyone

One section is an off leash dog beach and a great one, with outdoor shower and fresh water. Grass area just off the beach with dog doo bag stands and bins. The more southern section, past the stone groin, is human only. Great Cafe near the southern car park.

Wadjemup Lighthouse is the tallest point on Rottnest Island. It is acclaimed as an engineering masterpiece. Construction, in 1896, was overseen by the legendary civil engineer CY O'Connor. Rottnest is 19 km (12 miles) from Fremantle. Rottnest is usually the first sight of land by ships coming from the West. It's a moderate bicycle ride from Thompsons Bay.

Very interesting stop at the Round House. Volunteers were very friendly and informative. Great view back down High street. The stories of prisoners were interesting.

Travelled there on the free CAT bus from the railway station. Museum was free but have a donation box for gold coins. Very interesting collection and well written history of all the wrecks off the coast of WA. They do free tours at 10.30am and 2.30pm daily. They have the original timbers of the Batavia and you can look down onto stern of the Batavia and see what life onboard was like from the observation deck.

Fishing has always been an important part of Fremantle's economy. These days, you can wander around the Fishing Boat Harbour and see where the boats tie up. Fishing attracts diverse hard-working crews. The Fishing Boat Harbor attracts visitors who can't resist the fresh-cooked fish and chips for lunch. By the way, many people like to see the Bon Scott statue, which adjoins the Fishing Boat Harbour. The future AV/DC frontman got his start in Fremantle.

One of the best beaches for a casual meander - it's the perfect place to get a decent walk in. Easy to put your feet in the water and wander along. Part of the beach is dog friendly and you get to watch the puppies frolicking and playing whilst you wander along.

Geordie Bay Cafe has great coffee and food. We enjoyed breakfast there this morning.
