All of our communication with them was via whatsapp, which made things plain and simple, and they replied very quickly to any questions I asked. The minibus was a new 17 seat Mercedes driven by Marcin, who giot us there and back safely ... even in the snow showers. Once we were at Auschwitz and met up with our guide, skipped the long queues and headed off. As we followed our guide around the camp we listened to her commentary through headphones which you are given at the start.
Auschwitz is about 90 minutes and Birkenau about 60 minutes with a 15 minute break inbetween for a quick lunch. You can either take food, or do as we did and opt for the lunchbox offered by Hello Cracow for 45zl which was really good value.
Overall the day exceeded our expectations. Auschwitz-Birkenau is something most people will only ever do once, so it is very important to go with a good tour company, and Hello Cracow ticked every box! It was heart wrenching however a necessity that we visited these camps.
I thought I knew a lot about the murder of the Jewish people however I learned so much more.

- Freedom612369097701 contributionPier was an excellent driver. Arrived on time for hotel pickup, had lots of useful local knowledge to share, very accommodating and very friendly. Our tour guide for the salt mine, Veronica, was also fantastic. Very clear and informative, lots of interesting facts about the mine, and excellent at keeping us all engaged. - Victoria B15 contributionsWe had Mike as our tour guide, he was so helpful, he texted us in the morning with information on what to bring etc and to let us know when they were approaching our pick up destination. He also texted everyone recommendations throughout the day on restaurants and attractions to visit when we had free time, he was very friendly kept everyone laughing all day. Such an amazing experience, it was snowing so it made zakopane even more beautiful and the thermal baths were incredible, there was so much to do from indoor and outdoor pools with swim up bar and music and areas for children too. would definitely recommend. - christophergord... k1 contributionIf I’d read more about the tours available we would have brought our swimming gear as the thermal baths looked amazing, but then we would have missed the highlight for us if this tour. Michael our guide for the day did an excellent job, first taking us to Chochocol to see the beautiful wooden houses which look brand new but some over a 100 years old but are washed annually !!!!, we then dropped most of the party at the thermal pools , when the 5 of us left visited a local cheese maker in her small hut set just off the road on deep snow, it was so spectacular with all the snow covered meadows full of snow surrounded by very pretty snow covered pines too it was lovely no crowds of holidaymakers here as there were on the way up, Michael translated for us and we were then able to taste her cheese, as we were about to leave she came out with some toasted cheese and cranberries, they were delicious, after seeing no snow around Krakow it was a pleasure to drive through the snow filled valley and then on to Zakopane and a ride up the snowy hillside on the funicular and a lovely 2 hours spent in Zakopane town . - Weronika W1 contributionThe tour guide lady (Karolina) was so lovely and very informative. The driver we had (Janusz) was also lovely and a very safe driver. The trip itself was beautiful, you get to try traditional polish cheese and vodka, you see the wooden hut/houses which was a cute little village, you get to see the mountain range by taking the cable car up to the top of the mountain (however we got unlucky with the weather, which was unpredictable anyways, as it was foggy so unfortunately didn’t get to see the mountains) although, we even had 3 hours to walk around and do whatever you wanted. - Debbie S31 contributionsThe reviews are true, they won’t pick you up from your accommodation or your selected time slot, we were not expecting the message the night before indicating a 06:10 pickup! When you get there you have to Que at the sales office and wait for your allocated tour guide slot (first come first served with general public). Other tour operators were offering hotel pick up, an actual time slot and they brought their own tour guide so they walked straight through for entry. However, our bus driver was lovely and very helpful, the bus itself was a brand new Mercedes bus (very fancy).
