Tomas was a great driver and the bus was comfortable and not crowded. There was a video to learn more as you drive to Auschwitz - pick up is between 07:00-10:00, although our pick up was actually at 06:50 - early start... back in Krakow for 14:30. Bathrooms are on site for free too but there is often a big queue. Don't forget your passport for documentation.
The tour was incredibly interesting but also quite dark as you would expect. You are shuttled between camps - Auschwitz tour is about 90mins and Birkenau is about 60mins, there's less to see at Birkenau since most was destroyed before/after liberation. The only downside is that there are so many people there, it does make it seem more like a tourist attraction than a memorial for the atrocities committed here.
It's a long day but worth the trip, the bus is small (up to 16/20 people maybe) so you aren't as crowded as some other buses I seen in the car park. Tomas offers to bring lunch for you as a cost or you can bring your own, we brought our own and everyone just eats on the bus.
