Krakow is really nice. An old cultural town filled with an urban young vibe and many small very, very cheap restaurants compared to Denmark. Even in the main square the beer was a lot cheaper than in Denmark. We stayed for three nights and got around to see the most important including Nova Huta (but except Auschwitz). We stayed just outside Stare Miasto and could walk to everything in the city.

If you're looking for an exhibition that will send shivers down your spine (in a good way, of course) ;) , then look no further than the Spiders and Scorpions Exhibition! You'll get to see a variety of incredible species up close, learn about their history and mythology, and even have the chance to hold a tarantula. It's a must-see for any animal lover or even those who want to get rid of arachnophobia ;)

We loved it especially the kids 5 and 8 years old. I recommend it for families. Go and visit when you are in Krakow.

It's small: one room filled with some interesting specimens.

It's not the Smithsonian, but it only costs about a buck to look around and enjoy. In addition to mineral samples there are also fossils, and English language written explanations that need to be returned.

If you find the place and the door is locked, don't dispair. Ring the doorbell and you will be buzzed in where there is a reception desk where you can pay the three zloty entrance fee.

Good for a 15-20 minute visit.
