Very nice attraction with a great guide. Highly recommend. You can also accomodate here, but that seemed to us a bit too scary. 😃

We saw this building with our guide as we walked from the monastery to the castle. This is directly across from the Loreto, so you will more than likely see it. It is impressive in size and scale and it shines brightly in the morning sun.

The building of Opava Town Hall called Hláska, without which Opava residents can hardly imagine their town, is the appointed centre of the town of Opava. Its 60 metre long slender tower proudly dominates the Upper Square.

You can't help noticing this highlight in the square, next to the 'Black Tower'. The renaissance exterior is strikingly beautiful and kept in perfect state; the entrance hall is impressive too.

Visiting the Old Town Hall on a quiet day, we had a good look around the museum which shows a good collection of geological and man made artefacts from the bronze age to the end of the era of Communism. Particularly captivating is the slideshow showing the town hall and the market square through the years, showing political changes, social upheaval, Nazi occupation, the onset of Communism and its eventual end. There is also a lot of information about the Town Hall's partial collapse in 1917 and its rebuilding over the next 11 years.

Nothing too special but inside is a Free to see Novel revolving lift Just walk in & follow the sign down the corridors "staying quiet as people are working " you will find the novel lift like something you would see in a Harry Potter Film. Worth a visit won't cost you a thing

Visited on Thursday 12th October. What a majestic building which commands such an important place below Prague Castle and across the Vltava River from the Old Town. You also get to see it as you cruise along the river as well.

we had about 40 minutes to spend before our labyrinth tour, so we stopped in here. Beautiful courtyard, well worth the visit. I wouldn't make it a special destination, but if you are walking through the old city to see the squares I would definitely spend 10-15 minutes just enjoying the architecture and tranquililty.

Impressive old building. You can get in and check around if the police let you in. There are no activities inside just for architecture amateur.

The small building in the middle of the Park at the square was founded in 1525, three years before promotion of the Centre of monastic estates in the city. After adjustments in 1725 and in 1832 it got its contemporary double-shape in 1883 (Ing. František Karel). Currently it houses the tourist information centre where one can gather many leaflets and info about the city and its region. South of the town hall a stone fountain with a statue dated 1737 with pedestal of St Floris, Northern late Gothic stone pillory from the 17th century (on the pillory the inscription 1788), as well as a Tuscan column with a statue of St. Barbara (stood previous in the 18th century on the nearby cemetery of the St Bartholomew church).

We almost overlooked this museum just below the Prague Castle. In many ways, it is better than the castle. The exhibitions are well designed, the flow is better, and everything is available in English. These folks had everything, lost it all at the hands of the Nazis and then the communists, and worked to get much of it back. Fascinating history and plenty of treasures.

This is a hidden gem in plain view, located on the steep slope under the huge Prague Castle complex. A small entrance fee grants access to a number of terraces, some of which have benches for meditating or just taking a break from the madding crowd that is modern day Prague. The view from the top is wonderful, but this is not for people who have trouble with lots of steps.
