- ro oLondon, UK223 contributionsBeautiful unspoilt islands. We chartered a catamaran for 3 days island hopping. The crew were great but didn’t speak English so glad my husband did. Fresh seafood on the menu and decent Chilean wine. The boat ride to our catamaran was 5 mins but cost $80 so be prepared to pay that. We swam from the catamaran to some of the islands and also kayaked around a bit. Great for chilling and plenty of sun.Written December 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kelvibay area, ca218 contributionsWe stayed here for 1 night in July 2024.
- We got a private room and shared bath option.
- The boat dropped us off around 10AM on day 1. Our the agency thru which we had booked the stay did not include snorkel , but we rented equipment from the island for 5$ - it is worth it - the sunken ship isnt too far off the coast and you can see parts even if you cannot swim.
-Food: We are vegetarians - so food was rice (sometimes with coconut), a salad and some plantains. It was monotonous (all three meals) , but perfectly acceptable. A drink also comes along with each meal.
- Accommodation : The room has beds , 2 fans and a small stool to keep your bag; Oh and a light. That's it. But it was clean . the sheets were clean , we had great ocean views from the room. I had a great night's sleep - Absolutely no issues.
It also rained heavily in the evening , nothing got messy.
- People : the locals in the island are friendly. They know to give you space and keep out of your way. But will look out for you too.
-Island : it was crowded with the day tours , but once the crowd goes, it is amazing. Do you get bored? No way !
We went on island tours on Day 2 but honestly , staying at the island on Day1 was awesome. Don't get me wrong , the day tours will let you hop islands and go with the crowd and get you a busy day - but the stay the previous day and chilling out was the highlight for me.
Overall: I loved it . if we had time , we would have taken the 2N-3D option which would have been perfect. Cannot wait to go back.
You cannot go wrong with any island you choose.Written July 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bartolome (captain) and Abbie (steward/chef) 3 night tour on Lagoon 42. This was without a doubt the highlight of our Panama trip.
Activities: Fishing, snorkeling, lounging on boat, local island discoveries, kayak, paddle board. My kids had a blast. We saw dolphins, nurse sharks, stingrays and lion fish.
Catamaran: Ship was new and you could definitely tell that it was well maintained. Was like staying at a nice hotel. My wife typically gets seasick and she had no problem. I'd definitely recommend Lagoon 42
Staff: The best part of the cruise. 'Tolo and Abbie were the best. They were so attentive and thoughtful. Days packed with fun and after you get back on the Cat there is amazing food with delicious fresh seafood cooked just for you. They were especially good with the kids and they treated us like family.
Misc: They had all the little things. Bug spray, sunblock, underwater camera, waterproof bag, waterproof cell phone bag, water activity stuff. Really not much thinking to do...just show up.Written January 12, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thyme D4 contributionsDebbie and Breeze were fantastic hosts, they provided the perfect amount of entertainment and alone time. After escaping busy London I really enjoyed the slower pace of life, I was given an option of breakfasts every day followed by snorkelling at a nearby island. Lunch and dinner were cooked fresh daily by either Debbie or Breeze and they perfectly accommodated for my difficult dietary requirements! I felt so lucky to be dropped off at different islands to spend several hours completely alone with only the crashing waves to distract me from my book. My favourite time of day was sharing some wine with Debbie, watching the sunset and chatting about life. As a solo traveller I needed more attention than regular guests but that didn’t prove to be an issue. The evenings consisted of chatting, playing dominoes or having a singalong whilst Breeze played the guitar. I loved every second of my 4 days and feel completely refreshed!Written August 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
