The beach can be approached from Preston Street, via an overpass. Como Beach was once a favorite gathering place for young people South of the River, especially during the summer holidays. Today, swimming in the Swan River is not as popular as it once was. Como Jetty is one of the last river jetties. It's popular with anglers. Golfers who have a great round want it recognised and recorded not just forgotten due to the lazy action of the person responsible. Apart from the lake, the park has a well-maintained playground, BBQ, seating and toilet. This popular park in Como is divided into four segments, and is available for occasions such as weddings, birthdays and other social events. The doggie gym is located in Olives Reserve, which is just across the Kwinana Freeway from the Swan River. The degree of enthusiasm and apptitude for the gym depends on the dog, but most dogs are willing to give it a try. Como Baptist Church is self-governing, It is a member of the Baptist Union of Western Australia. The Church is on the corner of Robert St and Canning Hwy, just down from Canning Bridge, on the city side. It's built in Art Deco style, which was popular between the wars. The Cygnet is one of the most-photographed architectural features in South Perth. The Cygnet is in Preston Street. The Preston St Artspace has an array of artistic creations, all reasonably priced.
