One of the best museums I have visited ... EVER! Exceptional exhibits, artful artifact presentation, organized, spacious, family friendly, conveniently located amenities (cafes, rest areas, rest rooms, gift shops)...
Unlike many traditional museums with rows and rows of neatly arranged displays, Te Papa is New Zealand's innovative and interactive national museum with its natural environment, Maori culture, important art herita...

A great walking city with amazing museums especially The Great War Exhibition created by Peter Jackson.
Wellington is a very lucky city to have a benefactor like Peter Jackson for this exhibit and to have so many great museums.

We have visited some of the top European art galleries/museums and this place, while more compact, is up there with Park Guell/Parque de Joan Miró in Barcelona and, the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands.
In fact knowing many friends who have travelled the world to look at museums and art galleries it’s a small price to pay to enjoy these things locally.

We have visited a number of car museums in different countries but this one stands out as the vehicles are so well displayed.
The museum cars and exhibits are pristine and cover most of the last century, many remembered from our childhood even from England.

For an extra treat well worth an added fee is the one hour sailing on the museums ship with a crew that a both friendly and knowledgeable.
It probably appeals mostly to folks like us that really enjoy maritime museums but if you are interested in America's Cup, there is a lot to see here.
