How many wineries do you visit where you get to ride a gondola to the top of a mountain?
Stop in for a chat and a hug! Look into a tour of the winery with Brent or Shaun (by appointment only) - very informative!!

Having visited a few wineries in Napier now, this is hands down my favourite and I'll definitely be back!
Outstanding difference in taste with the process being so varied from the typical wine-making process, wine free from sugar and sulphites was a fantastic discovery and we are so glad we found this gem of a winery.

One of the fantastic wineries to visit on this Island - stopped into Tantalus as part of the Hop-On-Hop off Fullers ferry/bus excursion and on recommendation of our local bus driver.
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch in their new beautiful winery/restaurant building, elevated with views looking out over the vines; lovely soft earthy decor colours.

Out of the 5 wineries we visited on the island, this was by far our joint favourite; we loved it and would definitely come back again.
Located by the sea on a lovely ocean cove, its wide front porch looking out on the water is perfect for relaxing, enjoying a delicious plate of nibbles, and some of the good wines that this winery puts out.

Wineries are always pleasant places to spend an afternoon, but Villa Maria exceeded our expectations, largely due to the ever attentive, engaging and super helpful Rebecca who did the wine tasting and led the tour.
Excellent lunch accompanied by some very good wines and then a winery tour and tasting with Marianna, a very knowledgeable sommelier.

I really hope this summer wasn’t the last of our visits and the new owners will keep it going as it is, because it’s one of the last wineries that I know of that haven’t turned it into a wine bar.
As part of a tour we visited the Westbrook Winery, the location is beautiful and peaceful, the vines running dow to a lake, idilic.
