Peaceful gardens and a large gift shop with many places to eat. The view of the city is stunning. The canopy of trees along the road is impressive.

The “free” part of this attraction is really just jewellery shops, the guided tour is the only way to see so much more. We saw the world’s largest solid gold coin, and some very large gold nuggets. You could pick up a 5kg gold bar, find out your weight in gold and strike your own coin. The finale is seeing a real gold bar being poured into a mould.

I stayed in the Perth area for 2 weeks before going to Bali and was surprised how beautiful the area is. I had no idea. The Swan river is a lovely waterway with scenic surroundings whether it’s the botanic gardens that edge the river or Elizabeth quay and city backdrop. Lovely walkways to enjoy a stroll. Recommended .

This gem is great to see Perth from a birds-eye-view. I opted for the self-tour and enjoyed the different bells on display. The viewing deck is a must.

Cute little island, good for people who like to explore natural areas. Crossed the Boorloo bridge to get to the cafe; all lovely. I did go in the middle of the day and it was about 30 degrees so a bit hot for kangaroos so unfortunately I didn't see any. Neither did a couple of tourists I spoke to as I walked around. I did see kangaroo poo so I know they are still there. Would recommend for a short walk and river views but not as a destination to see kangaroos

Scitec was good for the kids, but the city West car park is a scam. My wife went to scitec with our 3 grand kid's and as she entered the car park was looking for signage which was very little, of were to park and ticket machines. Not clearly marked that you have to get a ticket. After 2 hours came out to pay at the machine then went to the car and found a fine on her window. City West car park are scamming people by this process. The majority of other car parks pay when you leave. How can you know how long you will spend at scitec and if you pay too much do you get a refund. NO. Disgraceful.

Had a free day in Perth and decided to wander the Botanical Gardens. Had no idea this walkway existed until I stumbled across it. It was really impressive and a great little excursion. It's not open 24x7 but during the day it's open and easy to walk. It's definitely wheelchair and pram friendly (though it's not completely flat). Great views from up here as well.

The original western half of the Cathedral was built from 1863 to 1865 in a Norman Gothic style with two porches and a spire being added in 1905 adding to its Gothic style. The Cathedral was enlarged during the period from 1926 to 1930 with the construction of the eastern half, however, due to financial restrictions resulting from the Great Depression, many of the original design features were not completed. The two halves had been joined during this time with the original Cathedral, less its sanctuary, being retained as the nave for the expanded Cathedral. It appears though that many thought the joining was not done well and that the Cathedral was incomplete.

The third construction phase from 2006 to 2009 resulted in major restructuring and restoration works being undertaken that included moving the Sanctuary to the centre of the Cathedral, building a new crypt, increased seating capacity, a choir room, an under croft car park and a second spire.

The result is quite lovely with lots of natural light flowing into the centre of the Cathedral and it having a very modern feel and look about it.

There are some beautiful paintings and stained glass windows.
