This is a quaint museum - small but packed with a lot of interesting things. I really liked the front building which had a nice display of the pearl industry and beautiful shells. There are several buildings and one in the back has a tiny dinosaur exhibit and different kinds of shells. There are some airplane parts outside and nice shade trees. Lots of parking space across the road where there is a small park.

Broome is an interesting place to visit. The history of the town is significant. Cable Beach is beautiful and the sunsets are stunning. Aa sunset camel ride on Canle Beach was a highlight.

Hands-down THE BEST GALLERY IN BROOME.
Also, right next door to Matsos... SO EASY!

The building/gallery in itself is beautiful, a warm, welcoming and no-pressure vibe from gallery staff as you enter, INCREDIBLE art that is 100% Kimberley inspired! AND an awesome gift range with something for everyone! Can't wait for my next visit, and to bring my friends and family! Or, if I don't make it in, they're online too! Just wow.

This was our third visit (2015, 2018, 2022) and we have purchased 4 pieces to bring home to Canada. All the art is aboriginal and ranges in style from traditional to contemporary. Exhibitions change regularly. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful, both at the Short Street and the bungalow locations. A Broome must see. Highly recommended.

I love Sobrane’s unique artistic flair and style. This gallery is an experience like no other with graffitied floors and plenty of colour and decor adorning the space. Lots of souvenirs to pick up and awesome location next door to Matsos if you want to pair with lunch or cocktails!

After a tour of Broome and its surroundings, we had free time and decided to visit the Pearl Luggers Museum. Unfortunately, we did not know one had to have an organized tour to enter the museum nor was it opened when we arrived. Nevertheless, we were able to walk around (others were there too) and look at and read the outdoor exhibits. We were able to see a restored and original pearl luggers and read the signage posted along the walkway. Also, we saw a diving helmet and other items used by the luggers. We stopped at the café across the property and saw many shells displayed on its exterior. To see the interior of the museum it will be necessary to book a guided tour.

Suzi French is an incredibly talented Broome artist who also offers art classes. Today my husband dropped me off at her Gill St Gallery for my Artists Hour booking. I was thrilled with the experience and the unexpectedly excellent outcome of around 90 minutes with Suzi, and her thoughtfulness at taking these photos. It experience was so good, I will book another!
