What travelers are saying
- Alice G7 contributionsA fantastic experience! We visited the MCG and toured the ground with our excellent guide Graeme. Graeme was helpful, knowledgable and enthusiastic about the MCG and found we learnt a lot about the grounds history. The ticket was reasonably priced with entry to the sports museum included which was great for young children. We fully enjoyed our time at the MCGWritten October 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- smiler1956Birmingham, UK519 contributionsVisited with my wife on the way to the Botanic Gardens. Very imposing building remembering the people who gave their lives over two world wars. Although we didn't take a tour, just wandering around the outside and viewing the eternal flame was an amazing reminder of how terrible war is.Written March 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - julesten2016Melbourne, Australia2,650 contributionsWe were given a "Cocktail in the clouds" package which also included the voyager theatre experience.
Sitting in our plush red "egg shell" pod chairs we settled in for out 15 minute journey through 16 iconic Melbourne locations.
Awesome experience and we were advised to do this event first before enjoying our cocktails which was taken onboard & thank goodness.
We enjoyed our cocktails at Bar 88 whilst admiring the scenery of Melbourne city and beyond.
The time you spend at the highest observation deck in the southern hemisphere is initially dependent on your own itinerary. The weather gods were on our side so we were in no hurry to leave. ( also it was not crowded)
We enjoyed the 360 degree views of our city and would recommend this experience.Written February 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Morgan L1 contributionThoroughly enjoyed the City Watch House tour this morning. Our “Charge Sergeant” tour guide was fantastic. - platypus150Melbourne, Australia27,761 contributionsNext to the Treasury Gardens is the much larger Fitzroy Gardens. These have more features (such as Captain Cooks Cottage, Kiosk, Conservatory), but the tall trees and extensive lawns are a shared featureWritten February 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - smiler1956Birmingham, UK519 contributionsWhat an amazing place alongside the River Yarra. Lots of pubs, restaurants and shops. Great for just a simple stroll, or having a coffee whilst people watching. Lots going on including rowing, river boats and exhibitions. Some lovely bridges to cross and buildings to admire. When we were there they even had a floating light and firework display for Christmas!Written March 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeffry bEssendon, Australia14,153 contributionsIn the middle of the middle of the 18th century, a small town in Australia became the richest city in the world. The Great Australian Gold Rush brough enormous wealth and ambition. Marvelous Melbourne. The Gold Rush inspired the construction of St Paul's Anglican Cathedral. Today, St Paul's is both recognized as one of Australia's iconic buildings. The stunning interior has been created over centuries by a combination of worship and Christian philanthropy.Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - smiler1956Birmingham, UK519 contributionsVisited Federation Square initially to visit the National Art Gallery extension. Very interesting display of cultural art and well worth a visit. The square itself is full of wonderful eateries, and shops. Whilst we were there they also had an African food and craft market, where we enjoyed some very tasty food. At night the Christmas display was amazing.Written February 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- smiler1956Birmingham, UK519 contributionsToured the street with my wife, as part of a side street tour from my guide book. This street is part of a U-shaped walk depicting modern street art on the walls of the buildings and backs of restaurants. The huge murals are very impressive, although it is a shame that some vandals have defaced the art with simple "tags".Written March 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lee SAustralia2,589 contributionsA lovely Heritage building in Carlton Gardens in the heart of Melbourne, the building was built between 1879 to 1880 as an Exhibition building. We could not gain entry to the building, the building looks a little tired & could have a new paint job.Written February 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
