The free guided walking tour is well worth it. Chris gave me so much more appreciation for things I absolutely would have overlooked without her fantastic stories and info. And it’s free! Amazing. But book your free tickets online so you don’t miss out. Really great experience on a sunny, cool May day!

We went to watch our favourite AFL team play...they lost but the G is awesome! We've been before with reserved seats but this time we just had General Admission and got there too late to get a seat but that's OK because it was a great game and the atmosphere was electric.

Surprising! It’s been 30 years since I visited and the visitor’s centre is fantastic as I never was able to go inside the memorial before ! Make sure you go to the visitor’s centre lots of interesting artefacts and the draw card is the view from the balcony !

We found this market quite different from the South Melbourne Market. The latter was bustling with visitors and had a wide selection of cooked food stalls. Queen Victoria Market was relatively quiet , very few cooked food stalls but the raw meat , seafood , vegetable and fruits stalls were great! Unlike other markets, there aren’t many local arts and craft stalls and most sold imported China products and copies. Personally, we find South Melbourne Market to be more interesting in terms of variety.

This gallery is split over 2 sites so be sure to visit both as they offer quite a different experience. The selection of art is wide and we were lucky enough to be there to see the special exhibition My Country.

We were given a "Cocktail in the clouds" package which also included the voyager theatre experience.
Sitting in our plush red "egg shell" pod chairs we settled in for out 15 minute journey through 16 iconic Melbourne locations.
Awesome experience and we were advised to do this event first before enjoying our cocktails which was taken onboard & thank goodness.
We enjoyed our cocktails at Bar 88 whilst admiring the scenery of Melbourne city and beyond.
The time you spend at the highest observation deck in the southern hemisphere is initially dependent on your own itinerary. The weather gods were on our side so we were in no hurry to leave. ( also it was not crowded)
We enjoyed the 360 degree views of our city and would recommend this experience.

Decent sized arcade with interesting architecture. Shops on both sides, selling mainly higher value products. We had high tea at the English tea room. Very English decor cafe with pretty delicious pastries that cost $$$. But a good break to rest our legs and relax in this pretty cafe.

We had an excellent time viewing information about Melbourne, its history and especially the added features the museum offered!

Melbourne Zoo is one of the nicest we’ve ever visited. It’s clean and well thought out. The animals appeared to be very well cared for and their habitats designed so they can be out if/when they choose. Unfortunately, the platypus wasn’t up for visitors the day we visited so we left Australia without ever getting to see one. 😭

Take the lift to the top floor to admire the beautiful interior of this library with its stunning glass dome roof and decorated interior balconies. Very generous space for library users. Must be wonderful to be able to spend a day working there or using its resources.

Visited today. Staff were really friendly (not used to this being from England and all) not great for babies as you would imagine, my 8 year old had no interest either but my 18 year old nephew loved it, my dad and myself liked it too. Creepy death masks.. some which seemed to have hairs in them still from the original casting. Really cool to read the stories about the prisoners, Inc the famous Ned Kelly. Didn’t manage the watch tower tour just with having a baby and all. Highly recommend. Short walk up from Melbourne central station.
