- Neil BWellington, New Zealand369 contributionsIt was good fun and we enjoyed it.
It was not cheap, so I have to say it's not great value for money.
We moved through at a steady pace and it took about 15mins. We could have slowed up, but then the people behind would join us, so it would not have been as much fun.Written September 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - adam w5 contributionsThis was my first escape room but my kids had been on a few. They said it was one of the best if not the best they've done. I found the staff very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Very impressive setup of the game. Lots of thought and planning must have gone in and then resetting everything for the next group. Is a nice team building exercise.Written January 7, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lisa D38 contributionsSuper fun activity to pass some time. We were able to walk in without a booking. Nick was very helpful and gave us the safety briefing and tips so we were having lots of fun. We did a half hour which was a good amount and the four of us had plenty of throws. I would go again.Written December 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- KateJ1980Newcastle, Australia12 contributionsAn operator called Bess was very helpful and friendly after we ran out of time (because the joint was so big we kept trying to figure out which activity), and gave us our 2 purple passes that we didn’t get to use. For the biggest Timezone in the southern hemisphere I say it’s worth it!Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Geoffrey B1 contributionCharlotte was a great game master, she scared the everything out of all of us and demasculated me way too much the whole time and she said that she wants a tipWritten December 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MicandsopBlenheim, New Zealand14 contributionsWe were actually surprised by how attentive the staff were, they exceeded our expectations. We got many different photo options and I would recommend. Price went up while we were there, we went in one day and decided to go back the next day but the prices had increased. Current cost is $40 a child and $45 an adult. Lots of fun. The costumes and accessories are plenty and easily fit to most body shapes. A tip - wear shorts/boxers underneath for easy changing as some of the costumes are not completely closed in at the back. But they provided some shorts when we forgot.Written October 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jeanie BDurban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa141 contributionsWhen we visited HOTA last week we were welcomed and told a tour would be starting at 11am. The person leading the tour was very interesting and gave us insight into what motivated the various artists whose work was on display.
The exhibition that impressed me was Donna Marcus' Radiate. The artist uses found objects, mainly form kitchens to create abstract artworks that reflect light or have lights behind the constructions. Many are geometric - spiralling out from the centre.
The guide told us that as a child Donna Marcus family were involved in removing metal from ships that were decommissioned and they lived aboard while doing the work. Her pieces have multiple pot lids, sieves and other kitchen apparatus arranged to radiate from a central point. Discarded items have been given a new life in the form of these magnificent installations which encourage quiet reflection on the beauty of found objects symmetrically arranged to suggest a new life radiating from them.
I look forward to the interactive Renaissance exhibition coming at the end of March which promises to give us a new perspective on the works of Michelangelo and other Renaissance artists through 3D projections/Written March 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
