Great croc park in the middle of town. We did the "cage of death" experience. Was expensive, and I was a bit dubious, but WOW! What an experience. You will never get this close to a large saltwater croc. We met Leo, a 5 metre monster, and he put on quite a show! Would recommend as a once in a lifetime experience.

Amazing bustling market. Went four times in two weeks and enjoyed food, crafts, music, people......Surprising number of people who attend considering Darwin's relatively small population.

The perfect place to cool off after a big day! We stopped in here after a day exploring Litchfield, and we're so glad we did. Massive, crystal clear swimming holes with perfect temperatures to relax. Massive grassed area to picnic and kiosk on site. There are 2 pools, large upper and slightly smaller lower. Both offer ladders/steps to easily access. You can also enter upper pool and let the gentle current take you to the lower pool via a narrow stream surrounded by ferns and Pandana Trees. So relaxing!

This was built in 1994 and is the largest crocodile and wildlife attraction in the Northern Territory. It has hundreds of crocodiles, a museum and a jumping croc cruise. It costs $44 for an adult and cheaper for concessions.

You can pre purchase tickets online or just turn up and pay on the door, I would suggest getting there early as the fish get full with food and with quite a few guests even on weekdays, if you turn up later the fish may not be so active in looking for food.

Inside there are steps and a slope to feed the fish from, good information given about the fish that are about. A small cafe serving soft drinks and coffees, maybe food too? An iced coffee with a scoop of ice cream is around $8.
Around there is also a children's play area if your kids get bored of feeding the fish. Plenty of fish to feed and watch, certainly an interesting little place and nice to go and see if your in this area...

These gardens are quite spectacular, we didn't walk the whole gardens this time but we have visited here previously. The gardens are looking at their best at the moment with all the rain they have had up north.

This is a very scenic area, we visited looking for a good fishing spot but then ran short of time so I am not sure there is anywhere here for fishing. There are many7 areas for a picnic and to spend a bit of time with young families.

July 2023. Beautiful park. Lots of different fish, turtles, and snakes to see. Great playground for children and nice water facilities, ie small dams for children to play in. Beautifully kept.

Bicentennial Park is a large area of parkland located in the Darwin city centre. It overlooks the Darwin Harbour and runs the length of Darwin's waterfront. It has the Darwin Cenotaph War Memorial ion the park.

amazing experience, the water being so salty, we just floated, which was a wonderful, relaxing feeling. Would have liked to see more shade provided, if possible over the water.

Lots of insect bites even after using repellent. Great war display which is free of charge. Easy driving even on a coach.

We did the 1.3km each way walk from the car park into the lower Cascades: a lovely, generally shady walk with the last 150m a bit of a rock scramble.

The reward is some delightful little cascading falls and rock holes that are just delightful to take a dip kin: croc free.

One of our favourite spots visite during our four days at Litchfield national park.

I first visited the park in 2014, when I first arrived in Darwin, searching for new experiences. I walked along one of the trails--the Woodland Walk--and, although not disappointed with a scattering of animals, birds, and thick bush, was not especially impressed either. Then, many years later, after I had forgotten this experience, I decided to walk, with my partner, around another trail--the Jungle walk--assuming I would experience the same feeling of mild satisfaction. But, actually, the Jungle walk, embedded in Monsoon rainforest, was surprisingly lush and peaceful. The trail snaked its way through some stunning trees, shrubs, and land. We were surprised at how such obvious beauty, only a 15 to 20 minute drive from the CBD, was overlooked by most locals, including us
