If you are in Darwin on market day you have to go. Variety of foods. Especially Asian foods. Special fruit juices. Nice to walk around the crowd. We tried all Thai salads and curries. Fruit juices. Sit on the grass anywhere. Bring a rug if you can. Go early and walk back along the beach at sunset time.

Wow! This market was absolutely packed with people and very hectic. A fantastic array of goods on display, and so much amazing food.

I wasn’t so keen on the exorbitant prices of some of the wares for sale, but most were great. Had a wonderful roti wrap and the best vanilla slice I’ve ever eaten. There are coffee shops and a bakery nearby as well if the stall food doesn’t take your fancy. Lots of fresh fruit and veg, and you can buy everything from books to jewellery to clothes to massages to door stoppers to psychic readings here. The Contemporary Art Museum in the middle is worth a stop in too (free, works not for sale).

Bring a hat and wear clothing suitable to the heat as this is outdoors. There is a toilet block in the middle. Accessible but a little difficult to navigate due to crowds and kerbs.

I haven’t visited here for a decade and just returned. I’m still impressed with the lovely fresh and abundant fruit and vegetables, as well as the delicious Indonesian martabak and the Sri Lankan curries.

A wonderful collection of art something for everyone. Very knowledgeable and helpful, we came away with a woven pandanus mat. Lots of different styles and areas represented so glad we dropped in.

Live music and lots of stalls. Just the normal types of stalls lots of food and drinks and it seems that most of the stall holders move from markets to markets. Ok to visit.

This small farmers market at the north of Darwin Airport is a good place to eat. You can reach it by bus, and of course easier by car. It is a pleasant way to spent the evening. Much smaller than Mindil Beach Market, but enjoyable to. I think its only on Saturday,

We were staying nearby so dropped in for a look. Some very impressive artists. Paul was very helpful and emailed us a catalogue after we had to return to Brisbane. Will be going back next time we're in town. Thanks Paul.

Useful shopping centre which is open on Sunday. Note that it straddles the highway. Coles on one side, Woolworths on the other. There is also a Kmart which we haven’t seen in Canada for years.

Walking along the Mall is a typical city experience. With the usual array of shops and eateries, it is pleasant enough. It can be hot in the middle of the day. There is plenty of street art nearby too, if that is your fancy.

After visiting the Museum we wanted to learn more about Aboriginal art. All artwork was very well presented, and easy to view compared to other galleries.

We ended up purchasing a painting, and it was wonderful learning all about the artist. The knowledge of the staff was amazing.

It was delivered to our home in Tassie, which was a very easy process, and even suggestion on how to hang it. Lovely email from the Manager congratulating us on our Wedding Anniversary.
