#1 of 33 Museums in Australian Capital Territory
The museum offers an excellent perspective on the country's military history, and is particularly one of the best WWI museums I've seen anywhere.
I am a bit of a war buff so have been to many war museums around the world but must say the Australian War Memorial is definitely a favorite.

The museum offers a sensational opportunity to see former Prime Minister Bob Hawkes office and other key parliamentary areas of significance including the Senate and House of Representatives chambers and related p...

We return often (free admission to all and free parking on weekends) as like all great museums and galleries you can overload fairly quickly on so much information.
It's a pretty good way to see what the biggest museums and galleries are doing and also leaves some time usually to see some of the local Canberra/ACT attractions which are also always worth a visit.

Made my day to be able to spend the morning here- loved every minute I had in the museum bc of the regional and domestic focus is unlike other famous museums
I am a supporer of the French Revolution but am grateful that the workers and peasants trashed the monarchy but turned the palaces and art into wonderful museums.

It has reciprocal entry with lots of other museums (ie Australian museum and powerhouse in Sydney) so it's always worth investigating membership options even if you're visiting for the day.
We have a 10-year-old who is obsessed with science and science museums, so we visit them wherever we go.

Yes, there are other space museums that give much more detail, but this was well-organised, informative and felt real.
The kids loved getting their photo in front of the NASA sign and the free museum is filled with great exhibits, from a real moonrock collected by Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong to space suits the kids can pose beh...

This is the most wonderful craft workshop / shop / museum in the old brickworks, it is a beautifully built building within a building.

Great museum for kids who love dinosaurs and a great collection of fossils and minerals
There are enough animatronic dinosaurs to keep you entertained as they do their thing and there's plenty of hands-on activities to make the museum a fun place to visit.

There is just so much to see at Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) Exhibitions are superbly curated and highly informative floor talks are scheduled to coincide with major exhibitions.

this Museum is a bit hidden away but well worth it if you into trains you do have to pay to get in but if your lucky you might get on the train to have ride or just to look about
This train is housed in the Canberra Railway Museum and I am sure you can view it there.
