Impressive building from Roman ages. It is amazing to see how well preserved the construction is after all these years.

Pont du Gard is a Romain aqueduc built built in the 1st century and carried water from the mountains to present day Nîmes. Bus tours are available from Avignon or one can drive to this location. This site has a great welcoming centre where tickets are sold to visit the site. It's a short walk to the actual structure. A better view of the overall picture of this construction is available by walking across the aqueduc to the other shore of the Gardon river.

The park is very spacious and peaceful. There are ancient Roman remains, and very close to it there is a very convenient parking lot under one of the streets.

Interesting visit. Probably going to be a difficult visit for those with limited mobility as there is a 850m walk to the entrance of the cave from the parking, also steps to climb down and up in the cave. Lovely light show at the end of the tour.

We found the whole experience fascinating. We learned so much about bamboo and its uses and properties. It was a wonderful way to spend a morning , so peaceful and so beautifully kept gardens and buildings.Well worth a visit and you are free to go at your own pace.

Lovely walled medieval town where you can visit the fortified towers and walk the ramparts. The inner town is very quaint with interesting individual shops and very many bars and restaurants.
I would imagine the town could be extremely busy in high season.

Le Salin d’Algues-Mortes: An Eye opener and great experience on how our daily table salt were farmed and produced . We took the petite train with tour guide cum driver around the farm . There’s few timing depend on the different schedule on each month . We have to figure out the culturing of salt , as theres no English speaking guides on that day.
I guess September is not the season for pink Flamingo to loiter and fly in the salt farm as this should be a common sight. Best of all is to climb the salt mountain and to witness the beautiful pink pond farm at it highest peak. Mesmerizing...

See it from the outside! Well preserved Roman temple of Augustus in the center of Nimes. Paid 6 Euro to go inside, not realizing the interior is not at all preserved and only features information about the monument (which you can find on the Internet). Should have read ahead; only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the entrance fee is steep considering you can read the interior in 10 minutes.

Worth a stop if you are visiting Nimes to see the outside for free. Only go inside if you have the pass.

A lovely aquarium with a wide range of animals to see across various environments.
It still looks like it is “working its way back” after COVID, with the foyer / shop / cafe area struggling to accommodate the one way system which is now in place and several exhibits mis labelled or not labelled at all.
Very convenient for the underground car park too

This is the most wonderful and surprising museum just on the outskirts of Uzès. The host is very welcoming and obliging, explaining that his father was the original collector of 3,700 items of French history ranging from cars, toys, agricultural implements to household items and cinema. You need a couple of hours to fully enjoy the displays which are cleverly done to recreate shops, a bar, streets, a motoring garage etc. We loved it and thank you to the kind host who welcomed everyone in exactly the same way. It is a little gem of a find and made all the better by having a lovely outside terrace / garden where you can enjoy a cold drink on a hot day.

Great views, but a long uphill slog. My advice is go early in morni g, take a taxi to the Top, and walk down at your own pace. Go early as the steps up to Viewing Deck are quite narrow, and you don't get much space when busy for good photos. Take a small picnic and stop on one of the terraces on the way down.
But trust me on the taxi!
