When they say customized tour- it’s exactly that plus more. I booked 2 full day tours with Edmond Garage, the first on Malta and the following day on Gozo.
Sylvia was our guide both days and was the best guide ever. She shared her overwhelming knowledge of Malta history as she drove us to all the places we had requested. We even had a time slot booked at the Hypogeum (which must be bought in advance) and she got us to that appointment in the midst of our tour perfectly on time.
There was never a rush and she just waited for us in the car everywhere we went. She said take your time and we did. She even found us a restaurant by the sea on Gozo for my son and I for lunch and it was wonderful.
She took us to many other places that weren’t need on our list which were amazing - we would have never even thought about seeing or going to some of the places she took us and I am so glad she did!
I can’t imagine how we could have seen everything we did on our own with the driving and storytelling, history and major attractions as well as secret spots. Communication was great before we arrived and happened like clockwork.

We toured Valletta, the three cities, Mdina, Marsaxlokk, and saw so much more. It was clear that Chris loves his country and loves showing it off to travelers. He drove us anywhere we wanted to go and, as our driver, Chris made sure we had the information we needed to explore each stop, helped us with pictures, and guided us through a walking tour of Mdina. - Tracie GTampa, FL6 contributionsThis was our first trip to Malta & we decided to take a day trip over to Gozo last minute. From the moment we booked the tour Anna was attentive with details. She picked us up from our hotel and took us on a scenic drive to the ferry where we took a quick boat ride over to Gozo. We visited several different landmarks and enjoyed an amazing local pizza. The amount of people smoking with ashes and cigarette buts flying everywhere was unbearable for ppl who do not smoke. In addition to sea sickness it wasn't a fun ride. It was a private tour and Mindaugas helped us to do some changes during the trip so we can enjoy Malta as we wished. Mindaugas went above and beyond to show us things that we would enjoy, even guiding us though an ancient cave to tell us the story of Malta's version of Romeo and Juliet, which was not on the itinerary. - O.K6 contributionsMinibus transfer was good, picked up very near our hotel. Once we arrived at the boat we found that this is actually a tour with 80+ guests, despite the TripAdvisor description stating "This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travellers". This is deceptive and really should be removed from the Additional Information section.
We went anyway, the boat was crowded and there was just enough space to sit as long as plenty of people sat on deck on mats. There is only enough shade for less than half the passengers, and you'll be on for 8 hours, so prepare to get cooked if it's a hot day. Lunch was basic but fine for a boat, chicken or fish with some pasta and salad options. All soft drinks and beer were included in the price, which was a nice surprise, there were spirits and cocktails for sale on top. Did have a decent toilet too.
We went to 3 sites, first to paradise bay on Malta, then a name I forget on Gozo, before finally reaching the Blue Lagoon in the afternoon. The first two stops were much less busy, and quite nice for swimming, but just bear that in mind, this is not necessarily a "full day at the Blue Lagoon" experience (which would probably be too busy anyway). The boat had steps to get in and out of the sea, and snorkelling gear for hire for a couple of euros for the whole day. You might want to bring floats for kids or weaker swimmers though, at some stops the water was a few meters deep and you would have to tread water waiting to get back up the boat steps.
The optional speedboat trip at the Blue Lagoon was great, shows you a bit more of Comino and very exuberantly driven. The lagoon itself is so massively busy that you were better off just swimming by the boat rather than trying to walk to the "beach" area.
Overall it was a decent trip, you get a nice cruise up the coast and some decent spots to swim. But it is crowded and unshaded, and slightly deceptively described here. If I did it again, I'd pay more for a proper small group trip, or just get one of the big red ferries where you're guaranteed a seat and some shade.Written August 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - mmv20Joplin, MO27 contributionsMay 11, 2023 Husband and I were on the ship, just outside the port, eating breakfast, waiting to leave the ship when the Breakaway's Captain announced that it was too windy and unsafe to take the ship all the way in to port, so the day was cancelled. I immediately called the tour operator to let them know that our ship would not be in so we couldn't show up for the excursion. They told me no refund because they had to "pay the guide and transportation." I was told to make a claim through my trip insurance.
I did not intend to cancel, just couldn't get to the island!
A refund inquiry through Tripadvisor told me that since I had only called one hour before excursion and other ships had made it into port I would not receive any money back.
(Like I had any control over these factors)
Be AWARE that trip insurance does NOT cover excursions unless you specifically add the cost of them to the policy, this also increases the policy cost!
As I'm pretty sure our tour spots could have been filled by other ship's passengers, I don't know why my $470 had to be used to pay the guide and transportation.

The boat was awesome as well.
