Dragonara Casino, the number one casino in Malta, is owned and operated by Dragonara Gaming Limited. The Dragonara Casino is housed within the majestic Dragonara Palace and has been operating since 1964 offering a unique gaming and entertainment destination 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Dragonara Casino is conveniently located within the St. Julian’s are featuring 250 slot machines, 15 live tables, a premier poker room overlooking the St. George’s Bay, a VIP-Lounge for high-roller private gaming, a Sports Lounge and one of Malta’s top rated restaurants. Dragonara Gaming Limited took over the operation of the Dragonara Casino in 2010 and since then has invested over €25 Million in the property. The Casino underwent a major investment upgrade project earlier in 2016 propelling the property into the ranks of the most prestigious and pristine gaming properties in the Mediterranean. Situated on the tip of the ‘Tad-Dragun’ promontory in St Julian’s the Dragonara Palace is one of Malta’s most extraordinary and imposing private properties built in the classical style almost as a grand romantic folly. Built in 1870 as the summer residence of the Marquis Scicluna the Dragonara Palace opened as Malta’s first Casino in 1964. The Dragonara Casino was one of the first major projects to establish Malta as a prime tourist destination. The Palace is a landmark property in Malta surrounded by a colonnaded veranda that abuts directly onto the sea. It retains many of the original architectural and interior design features, which have been successfully adapted to the requirements of casino patrons.

Spinola Bay looks beautiful and have a lot of shops, restaurants, bars, coffee and places around for you to visit and chill for a while. A great place to have a walk.

Location and Access: Dragonara Casino, nestled in St. Julians, Malta, is an easy 20-minute drive or a 45-minute bus ride from the international airport. Taxis cost around 20 Euros, while the bus offers a cheaper option at around 3 Euros. Dragonara's serene location on the peninsula, away from St. Julians' bustling nightlife, offers a less crowded atmosphere. For a more family-friendly and cleaner stay, consider basing yourself in Valletta, which provides easy bus access to explore the entire island.

Game Options: The poker scene at Dragonara Casino is limited in terms of hours and variety. Games kick off in the evenings, with a few cash tables and small tournaments. The poker offering might seem modest compared to Malta's reputation as a poker hotspot, but it suits the island's population. Cash games mainly feature 1/2 euro and 2/5 euro no-limit Texas Hold'em. While tournaments are small, they are affordable and cater to novices.

Service and Experience: Finding the poker room within the casino can be a bit tricky, but once discovered, it's a hidden gem. Situated in an indoor patio with panoramic windows overlooking a breathtaking Maltese bay, the poker room offers a unique and stunning ambiance. Staff, including dealers and floor managers, are professional and well-dressed. I enjoyed the complimentary food and non-alcoholic drinks which were available.

Rake and Rewards: The cash table rake is reasonable at 4%, but the high cap of 15 Euros can eat into big pots. Tournaments have a more challenging rake structure, particularly for low buy-ins. There are no jackpots or high hand bonuses, but tips for staff are appreciated. Despite the rake, Dragonara's charm compensates for it.

Dragonara Casino, despite its limited poker offerings, showcases what can be achieved with attention to detail. It offers a delightful and picturesque setting, excellent service, and a touch of class. While not a poker mecca, it's an ideal spot for a night of poker or a short visit to Malta.

one of the most beautiful areas of St.Julien and not only...an oasis of luxury and comfort, offered by the design and decoration around the water...full of beautiful boats, boats that can be rented or even bought, jet ski right at the exit from the bay...and in the bay the water is perfect for scuba diving or swimming...

St. Geroge's bay - in the heart of St Julians, it is a very nice spot for those who want to take a swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean sea.
Here you can find one of the few sandy beaches in Malta, with a public beach and the "private" beach of the InterContinental hotel.
You can walk around the bay if you want ... the promenade can be very nice for a stroll.
For those of you into water sport - there is a dive center there too.
Around the bay there are bars and restaurants - where you have a cold beer, some refreshment or dine...
Overall a very nice spot in the heart of St. Julians.

This church looks beautiful from the outside. I did not visit inside, but the sight of it on the Calluta Bay is gorgeous. Even if just to walk by, it is worth it.

The party place on Malta. Mostly for the young ones, loud music, expensive drinks and way too much people. So works for someones :D

The main landmark in Balluta Bay. Right next to the bay itself. We enjoyed strolling round this area which is just a few minutes walk from St George’s Bay

I was looking for a cool place to hang out in the middle of the day with my toddler and so went to this shopping complex to find that it's actually an outdoor mall. The shops are air-conditioned but the mall itself is actually outdoor so we were still stuck in the heat. That aside, it's a pretty basic shopping complex with not many shops. If you happen to be staying in St. Julian's area then go check out the limited selection of shops and restaurants. We ate at Planet Hollywood which was very average. We got dessert from the ice-cream shop on the ground floor which was delicious - that I would recommend! Do not bother going to this mall if you're staying in a different part of Malta as it really doesn't have much to offer.

Good size of casino, good slot machines, smoking and non smoking areas, and that was the only casino that offered us free drinks while you play.
