This is a museeum showing the history of the workers breaking lignite in this area. You will see houses from that time, machines and other historical items. You can have a tour around with a guide at the museeum and around the lakes which matured from breaking the lignite (Brown coal). Expect 2-2½hours including the time for driving around this spectacular and dangerous nature area.

What a surprise! Given that there wasn’t much to see at Heart, we went here, not particularly inspired by the exterior ceramics, and loved it. The room created by Else Alfelts was particularly effective, and there was a fascinating film on the music which had been written to go with Pedersen's work.

My kids really enjoyed seeing the old engines run. I loved seeing the various housing through the decades. By the time we got to some of the other areas the kids were already growing tired but managed to get through it all. They had fun doing the money puzzles at the old bank.

My title says it all. Over the last few years on business trips to Herning, this has been my 'Go To' cafe.

Lovely coffee, a terrific selection of cakes, cookies and crumbles, and excellent service. It's light, airy, calm and unhurried.

    Just perfect!

Skovsnogen is an incredibly interesting place to visit, the forest walks themselves are worth the entry fee, which is free but requests a donation of 20kr, which is nothing for the amount of things there are to see

Not all of the art makes sense and some pieces are pointless, unclear or bonkers, which makes it all more interesting, there’s something for everyone,
Theres art you can play on like the seesaw bench or the giant snake, so there is some interactivity.

Some of the art must have taken an absolute huge amount of effort and talent so feel they deserve respect and that’s also why I have given a full five star review

The forest is also naturally beautiful and you can walk your dog so it just trumps most “museums” with the freedom it provides

I really enjoyed the walking and the majority of pieces in a tranquil environment and took time to view the pieces I liked and the walked past the pieces I didn’t, that’s the point of art, it’s subjective

I would visit again, preferably when it’s not just been raining as it was quite boggy, but overall, a real pleasant experience experience

There is a lot one can do here: walking, disc golf, mountain biking and picnics. This is a good place to take the family on a Sunday afternoon for a walk in nature and some cake by the bonfire. There are shelters as well that can be used. There are picnic tables scattered throughout the area and two flushing toilets that can be used. I highly recommend this place for people who like being out in nature, surrounded by trees and active.

Great place for a walk for adults and children. Easy to find and get to from Herning. We even saw some deer through the trees.

Lots of fun things to do for all ages. A bit run down and can be very crowded at times. Still great fun for all
