What travelers are saying
- Amanda SPerth, Australia178 contributionsMy granddaughter and I had a wonderful time at the zoo today, despite the heat and a lot of renovations happening that meant the penguin enclosure was closed, which was a disappointment We saw most of the animals and thought it was value for money, though more food stalls would have been welcomed. I'm already looking forward to going back when the renovations are finished.Written January 13, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ian LPerth, Australia752 contributionsNice spot to walk along, especially around sunset when it’s not too hot. Quite a few people but there’s enough space that it doesn’t matter too much. Plenty of places nearby to grab a bite or beverage too. Parking off the street is limited, may need to consider the underground carpark off The Esplanade.Written January 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AcinetoAuckland Central, New Zealand23,984 contributionsWe were in the area since we stopped by Gelare for an afternoon sugar pick me up. We ended dup walking around the foreshore area as well since the giant animal like shelter caught my eye.
There are a few of these interesting animal statues scattered around the area. The frilled neck lizard is also visible from the other side of the river and fairly easy to spot. It is well worth the visit to to try and spot these things. There is also a nice grassy area nearby to relax on as well as a small playground. It also has nice views of the city.Written June 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeffry bEssendon, Australia13,719 contributionsThis modest red-brick museum will appeal to visitors who seek to recall the old South Perth; the clop-clop of the baker's horses as the delivered the daily bread, the kegs of ginger beer as community events supplied by Weaver & Lock; the milkman's daily round.
