What travelers are saying
- Rodolfo_WilkLiege, Belgium70 contributionsTremendous trecking through the peninsula of Howth, in authentic nature with a stroller and toddler. Certainly a little dangerous if there is mud on your way, there are 3 differents paths depending on your degree of aptitude.Written November 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ciakalDublin, Ireland58 contributionsGreat for a hike but muddy or windy at times. Sometimes hard to find a parking place close to the entrance but you can always find a spot down near the port.Written August 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Justina F7 contributionsEven though it was cloudy and gloomy out we still were able to see the beautiful cliffs and scenery. It was beautiful and dramatic, I highly recommendWritten November 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JnVSydneyGreater Sydney, Australia23,353 contributionsLocated on Howth head, is this lighthouse in our opinion is best seen by boat, it looks so majestic, sitting in its salubrious surrounds.Written July 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tim Mc GDublin, Ireland473 contributionsLove this walk. It's very steep. Nice views of Dun Laoghaire Dublin Port, Dollymount Beach. Its easy to find, it wouldn't be an ideal place for a picnicWritten April 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PassingBy_JustLondon, UK22 contributionsIf one chances on a Hurdy-gurdy Radio Museum situated in a Martello tower, it would be almost sinful not to step inside. When will you next get the chance? This is a little gem. A fascinating array of radio (and telegraph) equipment, with well told stories to match. And the view from up there is great too.Written September 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Howard-LiverpoolLiverpool, UK3,326 contributionsOn a nice sunny day this is a lovely beach with great views. Looks very safe for children and is very flat - no shelving. The approaches to the beach are limited as the railway is to one side and the access points leave a lot to be desired. Not nice and one down a long narrow path by the railway station is filtyh. Dog muck in evidence the whole way - not nice and the town council should do something about this alleyway as it spoils a most magnificent town and harbour areaWritten June 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - anyabug5 contributionsA quick stop, but a must see. The views are breathtaking and a beautiful, historical must see. Go up the stairs next to the Abbey pub to access the ruins.Written October 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChaosForever9 contributionsHad an amazing time doing this hike with my friends. It starts at Howth Train Station and then you will proceed to walk for a while near the cliffs. After walking for sometime you will see a gap in the bushes on the side of a cliff and something that resembles a staircase. If you proceed to go down those steps there will be a rope which you can use to descend down the cliff to a beach. It's a nice and pretty isolated area since it's a bay surrounded on both sides with cliffs. We spent about an hour just sitting there and enjoying the view and then continued walking. Eventually the trail will loop inland where you could choose to go to the Howth Summit or continue on walking through the golf-course and into the forest. The trail loops back at Howth Train Station and afterwards you can go grab some food and rest. The hike took us about 3-4 hours since we were walking at a normal pace trying to enjoy the scenery, and we also took some breaks along the way. In total we travelled close to 20km which wasn't too bad, also taking into account that we took a detour going down to the beach. 10/10 and would definitely recommend going on a warm day like we did.Written April 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - motorcar1Dublin, Ireland14,663 contributionsIt’s sad that this museum is currently closed but all attractions are closed at present. This museum is probably unknown to most in Dublin and the rest of Ireland. It is in need of major funding and our support. Please go and visit when restrictions end. Children will love this and the adults too.
Please support.Written September 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a sombre, moving experience, wandering through the graveyard, peering into the old structure. It would have been better to have private or group tours allowing entrance into the ruins.Written November 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DowleyWicklow, Ireland473 contributionsWorth the climb up the hill. On a gorgeous sunny day the view is wonderful. Didn't go into the museum as a lot of students were around the its quite small.Written May 2, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
