Great place to learn and practice quite surfing during the NE monsoon! You could also windsurf, swim or just relax on the beach!

We stumbled upon this church during our five hour layover. It's very easy to get there no more then a ten minute walk from the pier. The church is connected to a fort so it's like a "two for one" deal. It's a rather simple church but definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. It has a unique antique beauty to it!

The path to the top starts about 4 kms from the pier and takes about 30 minutes to hike to the top, passing by the 12 stations of the cross. At the top there is a wonderful 360 degree view and we counted see 13 of the Cuyo island group. I was surprised by the amount of trash on the path as two weeks before it had been Easter when many Catholics make a pilgrimage to the top. A pity the town council cannot clean the place.

manamoc is one of the lesser known (maybe even unknown ) islands in palawan.
It would be a bit difficult to reach as you would have to go to cuyo first then take a speed boat from there..the trip would be worth it as you will find a mix of sea, waterfalls and mountains so there's something for everybody. seemed liked batanes to me (though i havent been).

locals are all smiles =) i appreciated how kind and helpful they all were

tip: stay with a local. no known hotel/resort established in the area.

Bisucay is the nearest inhabited island to Cuyo and is only about 4 kms from the town pier. Passenger boat makes the trip between the two islands each day but i think it originates from Bisucay, so it is better to charter one if you intend to came back the same day. There is nowhere to stay so bring a tent and camp by one of the beaches.

What a terrible trip with a terrible company. Trip from Coron to El Nido departed about 2 hours after scheduled. The seats are very unconfortable. They advertise around 3:30 - 4h trip instead is 5:20. Price is expensive for what it is. Not recommended

We spent just under 2 weeks on Cuyo and had a cracking time. I was windsurfing and my wife was kitesurfing. She was still learning so had a few lessons from Jing and I couldn't believe how quickly she progressed. She said that Jing was the best kitesurfing instructor she's ever had (lessons in Canada, Italy and elsewhere in the Philippines).
Jing is a lovely guy and was super helpful and accommodating to the both of us, giving us advice of what sail or kite to use, where to go with what tides and other advice for our stay in Cuyo. If you get a chance definitely visit Cuyo and get a lesson with Jing.
