    The port itself is basically a working shipping port which loads and unloads container ships and also serves all cruise lines that stop at "Rome".

    The port is roughly an hour away from Central Rome and from the Rome Airport. While you can arrange for transportation on the spot, I would strongly advise arranging transfer to the airport, especially, and to Central Rome thru your cruise line. It will cost you a bid more but they handle virtually everything and transport you in airconditioned buses.

    Not much to see or do in the adjacent town which would be a long walk from your ship.

    What a find. You can completely submerse yourself in this place. It's quiet and peaceful, yet the site has wonderfully preserved features. One of the highlights of our trip.

    Easy to find this really nice church basically in the city center, across the street from tons of shops, unfortunately doors locked at time of my 1 day visit. Nice door.

    Good variety of slides and pools. Great fun day out. All the queues were in the blazing sun though! Almost unbearable in the August sunshine, and by the afternoon the tiles were almost too hot to stand on in bare feet (which you have to). Would only take a small amount of organisation to make use of shade already available or put up some shelter. Even the Italians were dipping in and out of nearby shaded spots, not just us fairskinned Brits! Plenty of shade for the sun loungers though.

    Quite a few disused areas just left to waste away, would look nicer if they were either completely taken away or put back to use.

    Clean showers and toilets.

    This museum, which has free entry, is small but very informative about the city. The ground floor has well documented artefacts with good English translations. However the upper level, which also houses interesting exhibits, has no information in English for the visitor.

    This treasure of a quaint place tucked away from most tourists, close to the cathedral, nice old area with this old building to walk through to mainly the locals home, old fountain back there as well. Nice place to visit for sure.

    We were on a bus tour from our ship and selected this stop. It was a very picturesque setting and interesting small church and convent. When we visited , there were only three nuns living there and we saw two of them. The grounds are very picturesque, high on a hill and with beautiful flowers all around. There is a small gift shop and my wife bought some reasonably priced extra virgin olive oil. The two negatives are that the steps are somewhat uneven with no railings on much of them and there is only one toilet for both men and women, so with a bus load of people that can result in a delay. We enjoyed it.

    Pretty enough fountain statue near the port of Civitavecchia. It is easy to miss if you walk along SS1. Worth a quick visit if you are walking from the port to the beach or vice versa.

    Not as spectacular as some of the churches you might find in Rome and Florence, but a very nice city church that has a sense of sacredness. A place of prayer.

    A short, easy walk from the town's centre. Day/night felt safe and enjoyable to see, running parallel to the coast/terminals.
