- FOL-1003Berlin, Germany1,728 contributionsliked it alot as its not so much into nation building like museum but more into real life
there are a few floors, main hall dedicated to life of the tribes and their living and customs.

- ShaConnLondon, UK22 contributionsRenamed and worth a revisit people and a place Museum is the best and most accessible museum of Omani life. In particular for Fashionista’s everywhere this museum has the eponymous collection of exquisite Omani dress throughout the ages that in fact deserves a museum all of its own. Tucked away to the rear of the building, the dress museum is a once in a lifetime opportunity to really view at first hand the wondrous history of design and detail of the region. Each piece is so beautifully displayed and accessorised with the ornament of the day. The mannequins stand elegant and poised and proud with their flowing silks, velvets, beading and jewels transporting you back to when and how those silks were woven and transported to the Corniche across the ocean. Traded and then expertly fashioned for the ladies of the land for their finest displays of richness, colour and beauty. I spent hours in this museum. Transfixed and transported.Written 6 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jim HStockport, UK86 contributionsThis is in an old house and was just behind our hotel (Naseem). It can be "done" in an hour but is an enjoyable wander through a very oild house with lots of art and history arranged more like a stately home than a modern museum.
On the ground floor is a room with an interactive model showing how the continents have moved over time. Great for kids and grandads to turn the wheel and change geology! You will not be able to miss the world's only Romanian-Omani dinosaur either!Written 18 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - imran3Middlesbrough, UK82 contributionsWas pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this exhibition centre was. Floor markings guide you through the centre to follow the stages of oil and gas production.
Interactive exhibits include videos, games and experiments showcasing processes of discovering, extracting and uses of oil and gas.
The ecoOman centre focuses on alternative energy and sustainability. It has a power tower and is super interesting.
There is no entry fee!
For teenagers and adults, younger children will need entertaining after a while.
Definitely worth a visit if you need 2-3 hours out of the sun!Written 22 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - gallopinggoldLondon, UK16 contributionsGood amount of knowledge on Omani-Franco connections. Wortha visit but you do not need to spend long here.Written 6 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
