I was surprised by how much I loved this museum. Learning about the explorers, their hundreds of attempts, the relationships with the indigenous communities, was incredible. Thinking about who the equivalent to these early explorers is today. And to end with going on the actual Fram ship and being able to explore inside, to see the spaces and what they took and did… along with the projected images and sounds of being on the high seas - incredible. I didn’t do the other island museums and the Viking ship museum was closed, so not able to compare.

Went here our first evening in Oslo and it was not overly crowded. Beautiful, unique sculptures along a bridge in the park and beyond that as well. Really enjoyed this unusual park

Whilst not actually entering the Opera house this interesting and unusual design allows you access to the roof from ground level where you can enjoy views overlooking the harbour of Oslo. Well worth a visit.

We had visited the folk museum in Valdres, and wanted to compare. So many more buidlings and time periods and displays. If you are staying in the centre, take the Bygdoy ferry from pier 3 behind the city hall for a change. No 30 bus also gets you here, but it will be crowded. Lots to take in and the staff in costume and character are all knowledgable. wel worth the visit.

Nice museum to see before visiting the park for some contex and background. Vigeland was very prolific so there is a lot to see. Museum was quite empty when we went

Because this is a viking country you must is it this museum. It small and pricey but still worth it. There are well preserved ships from ancient times and even realistic ones as though you are actually in a ship. Don't miss this one even if you are not a lover of museums.

Our family had a great time at the museum. They have done a great job. The young kids also enjoyed the children’s playroom. We topped it off with the elevator to the top of the ski jump.

We took the 2 hour cruise along Oslo fjord and enjoyed a relaxing trip with drinks and snacks to buy on baord. The recorded commentary was informative and the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. A very pleasant and interesting cruise!

This reopened (in 2022) National Museum is definately worth your time, if you're into arts/designs/history. The collections are so well curated, and it's all split over three "themed" floors. We were in Oslo on a particularly hot day and decided to go somewhere with air conditioning and why not endulge in some art while escaping the heat?

We started at the bottom and worked our way upwards, and we loved everything, maybe with the exception of the most modern prints on the top floor. Seeing the fashion design collections and how dresses evolved over the centuries was interesting, and of course Munch's works - including the Scream.

We started out around 17:00, and had to leave when they were closing at 20:00, and there were still some sections we missed out on. It might be wise to split the visit up into two sections if possible. Simply because of how much there is to see. Also, don't miss out on the coffee shop and the rooftop terrace with its views.

My partner and I enjoyed a peaceful walk throughout the park on a rainy afternoon in July, which meant it wasn't too crowded!

The main attraction is the sculptures featured within the park, all of which are very unique and thought-provoking.

The park is a lot larger than expected and has some beautiful water features and flower displays to enjoy.

It reminds me of a lot of Alnwick Gardens in the UK.

You get some great views of the Olso fjord and harbour from the walls. There is a one way system round the main building which is not for anyone with mobility issues. Some great exhibits all within the bounds of a working military base.
