What travelers are saying
- Angela HWindlesham, UK95 contributionsSpent a sunny Sunday afternoon at this venue. We opted for the Grand tour audio assisted. You cannot go wrong! Such a fabulous place. We headed out into the gardens in the spring sunshine. Truly recommend this as a place to spent a few hours.Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lilia O3 contributionsVienna is charming and a bit old-fashioned. Prepare to dive into beautiful architecture, world of art and sacher cakes. Most landmarks are located in the inner city, except for the Schonbrunn palace. People here like to speak German, not English :) All the food is very tasty, both in restaurants and in the streets. Tip: metro works during the night on the weekends.Written January 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - G2903WQcarolsNorfolk, UK109 contributionsWonderful museum, grand staircase, statues and paintings galore, photography allowed, lovely cafe in the middle which although busy, moved through the queue quite quickly. Could easily spend most of the day here.Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- G2903WQcarolsNorfolk, UK109 contributionsNicely laid out museum across multiple floors. Well signposted and has lifts for accessiblity. Good amount of paintings and sculptures, with photography allowed (no flash). Some weird exhibits, mix of modern art and medieval paintings/sculptures in 2 separate buildings.Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LindyItalyTravelersNew York City, NY111 contributionsThe Cathedral has been through many reconstructions. Dating back to 1147 when the first church went up, the Cathedral has shown a lot of resilience. St. Stephen's Cathedral is in the heart of the inner city and is 107 meters long. The tallest of its four towers is at 136 meters. The tower room, has beautiful views of Vienna. That original 12th-century church is no more, the main entrance door, is a great incarnation of its origins from the 13th century. The roof of St. Stephen's Cathedral is constructed with ornately patterned, richly coloured, glazed tiles. (230,000 tiles) Sadly, Stephansdom survived the aerial bombings of WWII only for a fire in nearby buildings to spread to the cathedral in April 1945, destroying parts of the building. Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are just two of the important figures to have been married here.Written March 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard LSouthampton, UK80 contributionsWe went on a Sunday morning on a cold but sunny day. It costs 27€ per person and it’s worth every cent as the variety of the animals is brilliant. What is also brilliant is the condition, size and cleanliness of their respective enclosures. This is an absolutely great way to spend 3-5 hours.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SmittyBrough, UK16 contributionsWe spent a wonderful couple of hours wondering around the gardens. The gardens are free. We walked from the zoo to the Gloriette which provides a great view of the palace and city beyond. We stopped off at the Gloriette cafe for a coffee, there was a small queue but we got seated quickly. The decor is nice but if you visit the zoo the Emporer’s Pavillion cafe is far more ornate and grand. The schonbrunn gardens are so peaceful and quiet. A really treat was to see the red squirrels running about in the trees near the Gloriette.Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah KPhoenixville, PA140 contributionsGreat value for the entry price. Five different exhibits. Picasso and Monet originals. - Anonymous79 contributionsState Hall is the kind of place you need to see for yourself to understand how truly magical it is. Words and photos are not enough to capture the exquisite detail of this gorgeous library. It didn't take very long to look around the library, however the Yoichi Okamoto exhibit extended our visit and provided interesting insight into the post-war history of Europe and the US. Overall, State Hall is well worth a visit and easily the most stunning library I've ever visited.Written February 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Courtney GRogers, AR72 contributionsWe saw Eugene Onegin and it was INCREDIBLE! Highlight of our trip to Vienna without a question. I love how we had little monitors in front of us to translate the latin into our language. It made the opera so much more interesting because we knew what was happening. The cast was so incredibly talented and we had great seats (balcony, middle). It was definitely worth the price we paid for tickets. I would highly recommend going here. Beautiful evening.Written March 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
