like lombard street of san francisco or nievsky prospect of st. petersburg this is the ultimate street of reykjavic, not long but colorful and very friendly atmosphere.

Beautiful location outside Reyjavik away from the city, would recommend taking the coastal path to get to the lighthouse. With the tide out you can cross to the lighthouse and walk around the island.

This is a fantastic nature reserve that you get to by ferry. We had a 2 day city card that included this trip. You do need to check ferry times as their website wasn’t overly accurate. The island has an interesting history and there are many places that will explain it. There is an art installation as well as the natural wildlife. Paths are marked out as good, ok and a little tricky. Definitely well worth a visit.

Just go here. As a British person the receptionist explained all the Icelandic rules. It is a wonderful experience being in the snow and getting into hot tubs and pools. Great for kids with a slide into a pool. There is a lovely cafe nearby.

Whilst on the last leg of our mammoth road trip in Iceland we were gifted some wonderful weather in Reykjavik. Given we have previously visited Reykjavik a couple of times before we had seen the usual "sights" and were taking a much more relaxed approach to our time. As the sun was shining we opted to take a stroll around lake Tjornin, enjoying the warmth of the sun and embracing the local wildlife it was a lovely stroll along the waterfront with a few statues dotted along the way.

The walk around the lake only took about 30 minutes and was a lovely break away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Laugavegur.

Did the lava tour on Feb 1st with my partner and we had the best time! I rode regularly when I was younger but only do it occasionally as an adult and my partner had only ridden twice ever, and we felt this tour catered well to both our levels. We were asked about our experience before being matched to our horses. My partner was given Harry Potter and unfortunately I can't remember my horse's name but she was very sweet and well natured. Two guides accompanied the tour and were excellent with talking less experienced participants through what to do, and took the time to tell us lots about their stables, the Icelandic horse breed and Iceland in general! It was also great of them to take the time to snap a few photos for everyone during the rest break. Despite the snow, rain and wind while we were out, this was the perfect way to take in the scenery. We would love to visit again in the future!

    Wonderful cooking class in Reykjavik

Enjoyable 4 hour cooking class experience on Sep 2, 2024 at Salt Eldhus in Reykjavík Iceland. Beautiful kitchen with a magnificent top floor view of the city.
Totally delightful and engaging husband and wife (Chef) couple. We made Fennel salad with Arctic Char, delicious baby lamb topped with Au Jus and served with red cabbage and peas. For desert, Icelandic Skyr (like yogurt), we toasted oats and made a butterscotch sauce.
It was delicious! Throughly enjoyed our afternoon. Treat yourself to a wonderful and memorable dinner experience.

We did the Buggy Tour. Our guide Bjarki did an amazing job. He explained how to drive the Buggy at the beginning of the tour. Then we drove to the glacier, black beach, canyon and back to the base. At each stop Bjarki gave us really interesting facts about our surroundings.
We were lucky to have great weather and a smaller group.
Would definetly recommend to go on the Buggy Tour if you have the chance!

I went outside my comfort zone to go inside the volcano, but I am so happy I did it. It is amazing inside it. We had a very good guide and the lamb soup afterwards was very good as well. Just a very good day!

We went to this show on our last evening in Iceland and it was entertaining and good fu, needs a good crowd and an audience willing to enter into he fun, not side splitting but a good show that does highlight some of the differences in attitude that we had experienced during our stay, A nice way to fill an evening.
