Amazing once in a lifetime experience seeing the Northern Lights! Marta and Kristin made sure everyone got multiple pictures taken and the most out of their ticket. We got very lucky and the lights started showing up immediately when we arrived at our location. When another bus drove up and blocked our view, Marta and Kristin fought them off in a battle to the death. I've never seen a tour guide battle a bus, but I'm a better person for it. After the lights faded at the first location, we headed back into Reykjavik, but they came back bigger and brighter so Marta pulled the bus over and let us take more pictures.

Tips: It's VERY cold, but they give you hot chocolate, cinnamon buns, and a wool blanket, so you're nice and cozy. Be sure to wear tons of layers though.

The tour was great, definitely recommended if you have a shorter time in Iceland. We saw many beautiful sites and our guide Vjeran was very informative, funny and helpful.

Absolutely incredible experience! The whale-watching tour in Iceland was a highlight of my trip. The crew was professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about marine life, making the whole journey both educational and thrilling. The boat was comfortable and well-equipped, offering great views from every angle. We were fortunate to see multiple species of whales, including humpbacks, up close in their natural habitat – a truly awe-inspiring sight! The guides provided fascinating insights about the whales and the surrounding ecosystem. To top it off, the stunning Icelandic scenery added to the magic of the tour. Highly recommend this adventure to anyone visiting Iceland!

We were two aging couples [(80 & 72, 71 &69] cruising and we booked this tour through Viator. We had a delightful guide/driver and ended up being only 6 people in the van. We covered 4 'prime' tourist spots: The park with the two tectonic plates, Gullfoss falls, an extinct volcano and a geyser field. We got sufficient time at each stop. We were lucky with the weather, we got sunny breaks at every stop and a few showers while in transit between them. The temperature was as expected 13°-17°C so a light jacket/windbreaker was needed, even though it was not zipped up.
All of the spots were very tourist friendly with walking paths and washrooms not too far.
We put 17,000 steps on my wife's Fitbit on that day.
The park with the tectonic plates was a downhill wooden path with interesting plaques and views all around, we walked essentially between the plates to a meeting point at the bottom. The slope is gentle and easy to walk and enjoy! A great first stop!
Then we went to Gullfoss falls, a beautiful falls! We took lots of pictures of the falls and river. There were more people here, but still not what we would consider crowded. We did not walk to the closets points as there was a lot of mist in the air and we got our fill of great views from the elevated portions of the paved path.
The we went to the extinct volcano and 2 of us walked all around the caldera. From the top we had fantastic landscapes to admire. The walk up and around the caldera is not paved and you have a few climbs and a lot of uneven surfaces to walk, but we have done far worse many times.
Then we went to geyser field, which is quite tourist friendly with paths to walk on around and in between the geysers which some erupt every 6-10 minutes. We also had a lite lunch here fish & chips Icelandic style where the breading is a light charcoal colour! Easily one of my top 5 fish and chips. With 2 baby beers + 2 f&c = 92$ CAD, not cheap, but we would order again!
At the beginning of the tour we also visited a spot where they bake bread in the ground (thermally heated) and we saw spots of boiling mud adjacent to a small lake. Our guided advised us NOT to test the water temperature as it could be scalding hot... 50 feet away a couple were canoeing in the lake.
We were away for a month through Amsterdam, a British Isles cruise, and an Iceland/Scotland cruise and this tour is easily top two experience of the trip [3 tours were outstanding so picking just one is too hard] We have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

If you want to see the top sights and are pressed for time, this is the tour for you. Extremely well organized as we covered an enormous amount of ground...but we never felt rushed. Our tour guide Sammi was awesome. Friendly, witty and a great source of knowledge about all the great attractions on the tour. Great job!

Siggi our guide was fantastic!! He took us to incredible places to see the Northern lights and helped us take amazing photos. He was so informative, fun and interesting, I learnt so much throughout the evening. I wish I could do it all over again. We were incredibly blessed to see the lights within 15 minutes of going out until we got back at 2am! Honestly a dream come true.

Sadly we didn’t get to see the aurora while we were there, simply due to cloud coverage and rainy weather. This is no fault of the company, September is just not the best month for viewing it. Next trip, I would book with them again, just at a different travel month.

Jana and Paco made our first trip to Iceland and exciting adventure. Jana's knowledge of the history of Iceland added to the incredible visuals that we saw. The orderly progression of the tour was well thought out and the 8+ hours went quickly. Highly recommend!

I just want to say a summary sentence first before I explain: It can’t get any better than a tour with Heimir. Heimir is a superior guide. Extremely nice, thoughtful, dedicated, passionate and methodical. Heimir will not give up like these giant bus load tour companies at midnight, he will stay, checking real time data (Density, BZ values, etc etc) and all sorts of real time forums from other experts. He is superior. Heimir is equipped with a spacious immaculate heated bus, extremely warm snow suits to wear, foldable chairs, hot cocoa, tons of snacks, from traditional sweets to delicious Icelandic sandwiches and other foods (all so good). Heimir will take all the photos of yourself you would want or need and let me tell you there is no need to take your own as his photos are world class good. He also captures all the different aspects of the Aurora and amazing composition. And best part is the photos are all yours to do what you’d please with them! I can’t imagine how this tour could get any better. Look no further you’ve found your guide and northern lights company in Iceland- Auroraexperts. Thank you again Heimir for making my dream come true!!!
