What travelers are saying
- Janice HPooler, GA4 contributionsUnfortunately I missed this tour on 8/20/24 due to unforeseen delays related to cruise ship schedule, however, I must say the office staff at Special Tours did everything possible to accommodate the late arrival.Karolina and Kathi were so great—changing the pick up location, sending a map to show walk between hotel and their pick up stop, even sending a phone number for a taxi when it was apparent the cruise transport would not get me to the hotel in time for Puffin Express pick up. They could not have been more helpful and respond to email with amazing speed. They also helped with booking questions I had. Thank you! I hope I will have another opportunity to go on Puffin Express!Written August 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura LSydney, Australia21 contributionsThe best way to get up close to whales, dolphins and puffins in Iceland! The capacity of 12 and small boat meant we were able to get much closer to these incredible animals with as little disturbance as possible, plus the boat ride was so much funWritten August 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travel Kat ToursEdinburgh, UK11 contributionsExcellent service, friendly staff and the main guide (the Italian gentleman) was very informative and provided good information. We were lucky enough to spot a few whales & dolphins out in the bay. Wrap up warm, it is cold but so worth it.Written November 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sally BBoston, MA6 contributionsAmazing fishing trip just outside of Reykjavik!
We were a bit worried when there was no one called "Happy Tours" (we booked through "Guide to Iceland") but by asking around at the dock, we found the Elding booth and got directed to our boat, the Saga. We had the full 15 people on board, and it was a lovely sunny day with very little wind.
We saw only a single puffin flying by, so I'm glad we weren't expecting more in that category.
We stopped at one location where I caught the only two fish (pollack) and then we moved to another spot. Immediately, every single person had a fish on the line. It was incredible! We fished for what felt like 2 hours in this location alone, catching a ton and keeping until we had enough to eat.
The gear was fine, some of the reels were what my fishing pro partner would call "crunchy" but the thing that made it exceptional was the staff, especially Oscar. He did all the dirty work of taking the fish off the line and moved so quickly that we were back in the water mere moments later. It was the perfect balance of physical exertion / ownership over your catch but also not actually needing any technical skill. He did say that the ~200 fish our group caught that day was very unusual - we had multiple times where more than one person caught two fish on the line as they were reeling it in!
Lunch on the way back, grilled fish and potato salad, was delicious, and we even got to keep some fish to bring back to our apartment to cook later (we just had to tell them in advance how much we wanted).
Highly recommend, for even casual fishers!Written August 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The crisp sea air refreshing your soul, with the added bonus of seeing some magnificent beautiful whales! ☺️
The yacht was great with a fabulous informative captain, the drinks in the bar were also very reasonably priced.
Great memories made on a trip we will never forget!

Hroomar was a fantastic guide and tried so hard to to get us onto some Char. We hooked 4 and landed 1 but it was great and the Holaa river was heavy with char and browns. He was so helpful and even dropped off my hat to the hotel after I left it in his car! He was a super guide and I’ll be back!Written July 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Shari m1 contributionIceland moments helped us plan how to use the time we had in Iceland to see as many of the beautiful sights as possible. Our guide/driver Andy was kind and so knowledgeable. He knew the best way to take our photos. The vehicle was spotless and comfortable.

I was fortunate enough to have two trips to Iceland this year and both spent with Gummi, Eiki and Gardar. I have fished with these guys since I first went to Iceland 7 years ago, in that time I have been back a total of 8 times ( would have been more, but for Covid). during this time I have become good friends with the 3 of them, which just makes each trip better and better. ive had offers from other guides, but never changed who i fish with, quite simply Gummi and his team are the best!!Written December 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BlairBremerton, WA2 contributionsThe two of us spent two incredible days touring Iceland with Pétur Benedikt, owner of Icelandic Elements. He was everything you could hope for in a guide - knowledgeable, personable, accommodating, helpful, on time, and a careful driver. In addition, he had a wonderful sense of humor, clearly loves sharing his country with visitors, and cheerfully answered our myriad questions about everything from geothermal energy and restaurants to the political system, sports, and trolls.Written September 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Beth B17 contributionsWe just returned from a fantastic trip to the south coast of Iceland. Iceland Pro Travel, in particular Yrja, helped me plan an unbelievable trip. She answered my MANY questions, planned the perfect itinerary, chose great excursions and selected beautiful hotels. We initially planned to travel in April 2020 but obviously plans changed. It was so worth the wait!!! I hope to return to Iceland some day and will absolutely use their services. Thank you again Iceland Pro Travel!!!Written June 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
