What a great service!! We rented hiking boots for our family of five (2 adults and 3 teens). The boots were sturdy and comfortable - extremely useful for our excursions around Iceland. Highly recommend checking them out. Would definitely use them again.

I rented a GPS and sleeping bag from them to do the Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls trail. I was hiking solo and the GPS was for back-up in case I wandered off the trail. It came preprogrammed with the hike and I was given a second set of batteries. It worked perfectly when I used it and had no issue with it. The sleeping bag was comfortable but we did have unseasonably warm weather so I didn't test the limits of its warmth. I would highly recommend using them!

If you get a little turned around trying to find them like I did, they are right behind the car wash!!!!

Stefan was very helpful for me and my large bike box getting to bus terminal. After riding the ring road, he graciously helped with a ride at a fair price.

I also rented a bike (mine was boxed up). Simple and smooth. Would recommend.

I was arranging a mountain bike event for my friends and needed a set of bikes for the group. Typically my experience from renting bikes has been to get some worn down bikes and a "turist focused money driven" approach. However, Snorri and the team and Bike rental had a great way of handling our request and were reactive to our concerns on potential changes to the weather etc. They assembled a set of very nice bikes for us and had a great service approach! I would hence highly recommend them for anyone looking for good quality bikes. They have a wide set of options and the website is super simple.
As to logistics, getting to their shop is of course a bit of a detour in case you are downtown, yet for anyone travelling with car etc. it's no problem. I trust they keep up with the good work and wish them well!

We collaborated with Bike Company when we went on a bike packing project (tectonic adventure.eu) from the very north to the very south. Through the rural highlands, on fat bikes with heavy packing.

In the south there is a labyrinth of amazing trails. We asked Anna at Bike Company to guide us through the best trails far away from the crowds, and we couldn't have asked for a better result.

Bike Company has a comprehensive network of guides and locals in Iceland. This was very much in our favour when they helped us arrange resupply of food to remote huts as well as all the important camping gears we needed.

We also had a couple of visits to their office and workshop which has a very personal and welcoming atmosphere.

Both of us will definitely come back to personally follow Anna on the hidden trails of the south, this time without all our packing :)

They stolen us 120 euros for the car cleaning, but the car was clean, used but clean: we have washed at the last campsite, with water and obviously not with vacuum cleaner. The inside of the car was clean, just a little dust on the car mats. They stole this money in any case, because they can use any single particle of dirty to accuse you not cleaning, and the take the money without receipt.

Abysmal Experience. Possibly rudest people I've ever encountered in the service industry. We rented our vehicle through Amex travel - which is usually great domestic and internationally. We arrived in airport - went to the counter and could not find our rental company. We were instructed to take the shuttle to the "other" rental kiosks outside of the airport, while loading the shuttle we asked our driver specifically and he stated the rental was not a stop for the shuttle service. Went. back to the airport- apparently we were supposed to look for an associate to show up with a cardboard sign with our rental companies name, then follow them to a smaller shuttle/van that would take us to our rental place. We found several associates - only the catch was that there were over 10 companies listed on some of these cardboard signs and said associates were downright hostile when we asked if they knew the company or the driver. This process took over an hour, I got in line and started a new booking with Hertz, and last minute our associate showed up, the rental company was listed 12th on the sign, and our associate told us to wait while he engaged in small talk with the other associates we had asked for help earlier (said openly hostile ppl). We take shuttle to rental facility which was at least 25 minute drive from airport, get to rental place and come to find out City Rentals is the umbrella company for over 12 different car rental places. The story doesn't end here. The person helping us with our prepaid rental was awful - even though we had prepaid there were more charges, and on top of that they didn't accept Amex travel (car) insurance, so we could either decline and pay out of pocket or accept an addition 35 USD per day, on top of an additional 400 undisclosed USD for our rental. When questioned - the renal person acted like this was totally fine and this was the first time someone had ever questioned the process. We were told that we were being incredibly stupid and rude for suggesting that this was a total scam. We opted for the additional insurance - which saved us upon return because they somehow found all sorts of dents - we videoed the whole car up close upon checkout and checkin - which I totally recommend. Check out was a little faster- we were yelled at as to whom was the primary driver - we had a very hard time with the eastern European accent - then ushered to the shuttle back to the airport where we did the Reykjavik drift - I'm assuming to dispatch us as quick as possible. I would recommend renting from a company with a counter within the actual airport. Also of note - they didn't accept American Express for the additional charges.
