Even if you're not into boats you will be wowed by this museum.
There are guides in English that you can listen to on your phone as you walk around and there are many levels that gives you the opportunity to see the ship from every angle.
If you're visiting Stockholm, then this museum is a must.

I stayed at a hotel in the area and so was able to walk around quite a bit. I recommend taking a guided walking tour so you can learn the history of the area.

This place really enchanted me, as I walked for hours deep inside the snowy forest, searching for some quietness. In walking distance from the city’s centre lies this park, a beautiful slice of nature between the city’s noisy neighborhoods, where you can enjoy some time with your loved ones or yourself. There are signs indicating the paths, and small businesses to drink coffee, but I didn’t visit any. I recommend walking, deep and high in the forest as it is a magnificent experience. Truly a place that demands your attention.

Our tour of Stockholm City Hall was certainly a highlight of our weekend break to Stockholm. At 45 mins in length it is perfect for keeping your attention and allows enough time to see each of the rooms including the hall used for the Nobel Prize Banquet.

You can only visit by booking a guided tour and I would advise pre booking as on the day we visited the first two tours were already sold out.

You can take pictures inside the hall during the tour and you are free to wonder around the courtyard and gardens ( which have fabulous views overlooking the water) without paying. There is a cafe and restaurant, although we didn’t use, them plus a gift shop.

I must take a few minutes to commend our fabulous guide. We were on the 2pm tour on the 19th Feb and although I’m sorry not to remember her name, she was amazing, friendly and professional. Interesting, knowledgable, and passionate about her work place and culture are three more words I would use to describe her. The pace of the tour was perfect and so was the group size ( I think there were around 10 of us).
The lady who sold us our tickets in the morning was also very friendly, helpful and patient while we took time deciding which tour to book. The ladies who welcomed us into the hall were also very friendly and welcoming.

A few things to note. A meeting is held in one of the rooms on the tour on the third Monday of each month so avoid the 3pm tour on that day as you may not get to see it and weddings are held on Saturdays so some rooms may not be available then either, although you may get to see the couples taking photos in the courtyard.
There are toilets inside the lobby you are able to enter 10 mins before the tour starts and a cloak room too. It is an unmanned cloakroom but you are able to leave things there if you wish. Backpacks must be worn on your front during the tour or left in the cloakroom.

All in all it is an excellent experience and very good value for money at approximately £11 per person.

    Well done Stockholm City Hall.

Lovely open air museum. Lots to see and great for children. The Nordic zoo was a bonus, with moose and brown bears. There was also a lovely children's zoo.
The views across Stockholm were also fab and it was good value for money.
My only complaint was that the shop/houses shut so early (3pm) we missed out on trying the bakery goods and seeing some of the demonstrations (glass blowing etc)
The actual park remained open so you could still walk around it but it was a little disappointing. If you're going to visit, get there early to make the most of it all.

Super interesting museum, also for „ Not ABBA Fans“.
Keeps you entertained and wakes nice memories! Enough time to see whole museum, without getting bored.

My brother and I came here one morning while in Stockholm. Our friend, not an avid royalist like us, decided to go to our hotel's sauna instead, planning to rejoin us later. We did have to queue a bit, but not too long. I'd suggest getting here early even so.
Our ticket allowed access to the Royal apartments, treasury and a little museum. The apartments were super posh and beautiful. It's nice to see this building but I wouldn't say it is a MUST DO on a trip to Stockholm.

It's over ten years since our first visit to Fotografiska. The views from the third floor resto are much the same each time: impressive! The exhibitions vary of course. On our latest round we admired photos by Kary Lasch from the 1950s, Cindy Sherman's very heavy tapestries, a Danish doctor in a floating world of bizarre bodies and a young Swedish innovator. There was a small exhibition about the history of selfies too. All in all, well worth a couple of hours.

It is a lovely walk from Gamla Stan to Södermalm where Monteliusvagen is located. The cobblestone streets and charming buildings along the way make the walk worthwhile. The panoramic views over Gamla Stan and Stockholm as you walk along Monteliusvagen are stunning. Keep walking and you will come to beautiful Ivar Los Park with its amazing views. This is a great location for a picnic lunch or dinner, especially as the sun is setting!

People told us that the Viking exhibition at the Historic Museum was better than the Viking Museum so we checked it out and it was pretty neat to see all they had. We spent about an hour and half and probably needed another hour there. If you have time, include it in your itinerary. The rest of the museum especially the Gold room looked amazing.

Sodermalm is a less-touristy and beautiful area in Stockholm. It was not overrun by tourists when I visited but had a nice crowd that was not overwhelming like Old Town. It's I truly one if the nicer area in the city and the view from there is worth the visit. It has many restaurants and a generally more laid back feel. A definite must-visit.
