At first we were very skeptical about it - we are not interested in attractions, they say, this one is more for children, let's see - and go; Then we parted ways, we even had to move the car to a longer parking lot, and spent much more time in the park than we had planned.
The park was opened in 1843, and is the third oldest park in the world (after Dyrehavsbakken - also in Denmark and Wurstelprater in Vienna). People say that Disney was inspired by the idea of Disneyland after visiting this place.

We couldn't resist buying a photo of my wife's iris. It's quite popular now. They took this photo for us, when you look at it, it seems that you are looking into infinity, some kind of space simply. My wife has different colored eyes, this is called heterochromia, but also the color of her eyes changes depending on her mood. When she is angry, her eyes are gray, when she is cheerful, they are greenish, and otherwise they are tiger-yellow. We made one that was walnut and blue at this point. In the park we completely relaxed, remembered our childhood, although we didn’t fall into it, we walked everywhere, enjoyed ourselves, admired the gardens, buildings, attractions, flowers, lay on the grass and laughed for no reason.

Beautiful garden with a variety of climates. Great for photography.
The best part is the butterfly room!

Beautiful flowers in the greenhouses, also a nice change of climate on a cold day. Great for kids and anyone who likes nature. Also free!

Really nice place to visit! We were 2 parents and 2 kids (4 and 5 y.old) and was the from 10.00 to 17.00 and yet didn’t see everything! Several playgrounds and activities kept our small trolls happy.

In the 1980s I studied at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (KVL as it was called then...), but rarely went into the gardens. Subsequently I have discovered that these gardens are very attractive, tranquil, well kept and highly enjoyable particularly on sunny days. There are always lots of families admiring the flowerbeds and relaxing with picnics on the grass. The towering trees are very beautiful too. In the summer there's a small café in one of the glasshouses, called "Væksthuset", which serves drinks and snacks. It's worth a detour to find this delightful oasis in the brick and concrete desert of the city!

A beautiful genuine Japanese garden in the middle of Danish countryside! Not big, but very good, lots of variety, a fish pond and a decent Japanese restaurant, too. You can also bring your own packed lunch to be eaten next to the gardens in a nice spot.

If you happen to be nearby, and want to find a serene place for something a little out of the ordinary, this is a good choice.

Went there today with a 2 year old. This place is built for young children!!!
The food however, is terrible at best, so is the coffee. I simoply can’t understand why they don’t serve a decent meal?
It’s burgers and fries, but the burgers are imo not worth eating.. nothing is made with love - would rather eat at McD..
So bring you own lunch and coffee and enjoy :)

Was initially reluctant to pay to go and see a couple of herbs. But the garden was just do impressive. Really interesting stories behind the historical use of the herbs as medicine. Very well kept and detailed description of each plant. Highly recommended.

We were enjoying the fine works in the miniature Kolding mid 1800s, it is quite small but interesting though. All done by volunteers, and they had a quite funny shop as well, with some of their miniture craftmanship as well, at reasonable prices.

Beautiful park/country garden; great for people with garden interest. And smaller museum, check on site for subject. (2017 about Previously Danish West Indian Islands) Cafe in private villa, homely, only coffee/tea and cake. Also non gluten.
    Not for smaller children.
You can bring your own picnic.

A wonderful place to stroll, sit, relax, and enjoy a very good Danish open sandwich lunch. The gardens are beautiful and it's a very peaceful and relaxing attraction. Plenty of seating, easy to walk round, and recommended as a restful, alternative day after visiting busy Copenhagen.

Nice for a visit, to feel the windy and wild ocean. Nice stroll. Good view of local boats. Great combination of traditional fishing- and new hipster life. Nice activities such as surf school etc.

Nice gardens with ponds. Pleasant to walk through open green areas. Ideal for strolling, picnic or play. Free entrance , a little down hill from town.

We walked around the formal gardens near the museum. Although it was a wet day the gardens were enjoyable. There was a great bonsai collection, a large rockery garden, fruit trees and vegetable garden as well as ornamental trees and shrubs. It was a very pleasant walk before we went to see the WW2 commemoration and old galleon. The other cultural history museum was closed. There were also extensive forest walks which we did not do these

Spent about an hour walking here on a Sunday morning. Delightful way to unwind and relax before the day’s activities started in earnest.
